Practical advice for aspiring leaders and speakers. Not a fan of the appendix since dialect supports individuality and character.

This Self-help book is a great optional reading for people in public speaking courses like Toastmasters. The chapters are clear, concise, and well thought out. The examples used are outdated and American, often referring to Abraham Lincoln. If you take care to notice, there is plenty of redundancies within the book. Common themes include: study and know your audience to appeal to their senses and ego, infuse your speeches with your own personality and knowledge, prepare and practice adequately, and finally, portray a smart and relaxed confidence in your prepared speech. While the book is not all encompassing and some chapters are irrelevant to me right now, I recommend you take time to process the information within this book and take from it what you need. If there is a chapter you don’t need right now, leave it. If there is 1 chapter specifically that you need, read just that.

It started off okay but as it progressed, it became very boring. A very average read.

How to win friends and influence people

Dale Carnegie's books are always full of knowledge and experience. But you are able to connect with it more when you would gone through some related experience. Or when you facing some trouble with something and Carnegie has a solution. Yep! So, re-read is important, I believe.
