O carte foarte bună! Un exemplu ca se poate si vorbitul in public, prin exercitii se poate duce la rang de profesionist. O recomand.

Dale Carnegie's self-help book How To Develop Self-Confidence And Influence People By Public Speaking accompanied today's coffee. He teaches readers to confidently address huge groups, and how to enjoy and inspire an audience in this book.

My second Dale Carnegie book and I went into it without judging the title. I don't know why I was surprised at just how much focus this book has on public speaking but I guess that's my fault. As always there are some good takeaways that you can take and apply outside of what this book is aimed at helping you with.

I will take some of these concepts to help me, especially the four areas highlighted in the book on things to consider whilst preparing for your public-speaking.

This is an amazing book, on a very important topic (at least for me, one of the main things I'm trying to improve right now). Obviously, some of the advice is a bit oudated, but there is also a lot that is surprisingly relevant, such as the importance of visual aids and its role on attention retention (written on a time before computers).

Really good, not much more to say! Defintely much better than his other book on making friends.

I mean it is a quite nice book with concrete instructions on how to give a speech and how to build the right attitude.
The only thing is that at some point the examples were just listed like a sentence after each other without any connection. That made me think that the book had some redundant parts and the essence was polluted by extra stories.
Otherwise, I liked it.

I enjoyed reading the book, it gave a lot of tips and tricks into public speaking and how to be more self-confident in the process.

The chapters can be seen as a step by step checklist when preparing a presentation and I think that just looking over the chapter names can bring up ideas.

The more I read from Dale Carnegie, the more I understand why his books are valid over longer periods of time. His examples like Lincoln, Washington and other historical figures are timeless.

I think the title is a bit misleading, and it should start with 'public speaking' (which is actually stripped out from the title in the app, but not in the cover picture)

Most of the points raised by the author is platitudes and cliché. Maybe it was original back in 1920s, but certainly not now. So drop it and read some more contemporary books.

O carte care conține numeroase sfaturi și merge citită în paralel cu ceva mai serios.

Written in the form of a summary of a summary.
Do not get me wrong, the lessons provided are quite pragmatic and are related to real life experiences advocating their applicability, yet I found it difficult to follow through in a stretch -though, I am unsure of the cause.
It serves as an excellent coffee table book or the type of guide you read a few pages of every once in a while, and revert back when you need a quick refreshment(to give credit, the author has mentioned the same in the beginning of the book). Still, a good recommendation for people who want to build up on their quality of public speaking because I firmly believe the lessons provided do have potential.
Note: The book has a good number or grammatical errors and misprints - though it could be my specific version/print. I got it from a street vendor.

I loved this book. Well written, sound and easily applied advice for anyone who considers themselves to be an absolute pathetic loser (as I do). Really witty and entertaining read.
