Interesting story of a lawyer assigned to defend a convicted murderer on death row and the pursuit of the truth about the triple murder of ten years earlier. Only negative for me was that the book was longer than I prefer.

Ever since maybe the end of the first fourth of the book, I've known this would compete with Presumed Innocent as my favorite Turow. The topic itself was interesting, the back and forth narrative quite helpful, the potential law ramifications notable, and the emergent parallelism between the two sides was fascinating. By the final reveal I am confident in saying this is my favorite Turow, edging out the first book by a combination of the reveal, as well as the grand juxtaposition between what is needed to uphold the law, and what is needed to maintain relationships. I would have tweaked the ending to make the parallel complete, but the chosen ending is good too. I'd like to re-read Presumed Innocent someday to see if I would also soften up to its dull first third.

Also, Turow should just write straight-up romance novels.

A new kind of book for me because i never expected so many different levels in a "legal thriller". This was also my first Scott Turow so i had no idea how he writes because all my life i have been reading Grisham- the master legal story teller!

Scott includes many other things around the legal plot which makes him very different from Grisham.

He has the ability to find drama in the most minute points of law which makes it lively and lifts him into a league of his own when it comes to legal fiction. Reversible Errors -- a wonderfully resonant title -- is a account of love and redemption, crime and punishment, the intricacies of the legal system, the high cost of ambition, and the primal importance of our most basic human connections. Go for it to see how difficult and complicated life can be...

Absorbing, if a bit complex in legal terms, murder mystery! Intricate twists & turns as in peeling back layers of what really happened at the murder scene—that part kept my interest!! Some of the characters were not likeable & Mr. Turow wrote WAY too many unnecessary details about personal lives (& thoughts) of some characters.

The diagram of characters' relationships to each other provided at the beginning of the book was very useful. The storyline is highly complex, and the characters numerous. Although I didn't always follow the plot twists, the narrative was compelling and the characters' flaws made them likeable.

A good read for a long and rainy weekend.

Good plot, spoiled by graphic sex & some cussing (guess they gotta cover it all to entice more readers). Turow doesn't need that, he's a top notch author otherwise.

I have seldom encountered a more convoluted story than this one in "Reversible Errors." Some of the twists become mind-numbing, but all seem to lead to a satisfying outcome, and Turow gets us into the twists and turns of both good, and bad, police work and judicial machinations. The parting line, "I forgive you, I forgive you, I forgive you," caps the story of the human condition in its manifestations in love and crime. Would that all my three-star ratings were this good.

I'm not usually much of a fan of the police-procedural, legal-thriller kind of story. I don't know what review or personal recommendation caused me to purchase this book, but I'm glad I did. I was bemused to note the number of dismissive reviews here, and perhaps that is because this book doesn't conform to genre norms that I am not tuned in to.

It does seem to me that, although the story arc of "What actually happened years ago when three people were murdered and another person confessed" is intriguing and has many twists and turns, ultimately the real story here is about the four central characters involved in untangling the mystery. These folks all have long, complicated histories, with each other and in themselves, and I found the narrative of the interplay among them to be extremely compelling. The extent to which our past influences our present, and our previous decisions have lingering consequences on how we see ourselves and our future, is movingly depicted.

I was fascinated.

Not much mystery to the murder mystery embedded in this book, and the courtroom scenes were in short supply. I love a good legal thriller/mystery and courtroom scenes but that action is a backdrop to the two romantic relationships that take center stage in the story. Not what I was expecting, and it really wasn't that good. You would never know this was written by the same author who wrote Presumed Innocent.

Got caught up in the well drawn characters, interesting plot, unfolding layers and bits of evidence. I figured out a critical plot piece somewhat early on and from then on, began losing my enthusiasm for the story because it was taking SOOOO long for the characters to see it. Unlike Grisham style lawyers who figure everything out ahead of anyone else, Arthur starts out smart and peters out.
I can see it as a movie or maybe that is Turow’s great gift- creating characters you can see and hear.

This is not the book for fans of true crime books. This is unlike true fiction as the centrality of the crime is adjacent to a court of appeals procedural. As such, there is little suspense and hardly any actions taken to reveal the crime and its attendant investigations. It appears that Turow is trying to raise the form from pulp fiction to literature. As such the writing is dry as are the rules of appellate procedure. I will not be picking up any books from Turow simply because the reads are not engaging enough and well, the guy just wants to demonstrate his writer's chops. I would shy away from this if you

One of the least interesting books I've read in recent memory. I didn't care for most of the characters and the legal plot was so confusing that I almost gave it up. It was very slow, almost plodding, through the middle of the book. A dark and dreary look at the legal profession.
