I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did when I read the first one. I read this one right after the first volume and I was expecting it to be as fun as the other but it's not. Nothing really incredible happens and she starts being very repetitive and her daily updates about her weight, cigarettes, alcohol and other silly things started to annoy me a lot. Bridget is still fun though and I'm glad the end was nice.

Is there much substance here? No.
Is Bridget an even hotter vapid mess? Yes.

Now that Bridget has what she always wanted, she ends up on a train wreck of self-sabotage through jealousy and lack of self-confidence with much assessment through diary entries.

The running second-timer of how long it has been since sex cracked me up. I know the feeling, Bridget. I also loved the turrets phone call conversations with Magda yelling at her kid in the background.

Biggest criticism: I can't believe we missed this entire Thailand experience in the movie, the 2nd movie failed us hardcore!

I most hate the constant weight assessment and how the toxic friend group continues to hold one another back in life.

Imogen Church is spectacular at narration and breathes extra life into the pages.

Solid 3 Star guilty pleasure and light read.

Η ιστορία της Μπρίτζετ Τζόουνς και του Μαρκ Ντάρσυ είναι το αποκούμπι μου μετά από την ανάγνωση κάποιου βιβλίου ιδιαίτερα βαρύ και στενάχωρου. Είναι σίγουρο ότι θα μου φτιάξει τη μέρα!
Νομίζω ωστόσο, όπως γινεται συχνά άλλωστε, ότι το πρώτο βιβλίο της σειράς είναι λίγο καλύτερο απο το δεύτερο.

Nie wiem, czy była to bardzo potrzebna kontynuacja - szczególnie w tej dość przesadzonej wersji - ale na pewno jest książką, która pokazuje, że człowiek może spieprzyć swoje życie w sekundę, ale i je naprawić. Naprawdę dobrze się bawiłam czytając tę pozycję (chociaż zmiana tłumacza nie wyszła na lepsze mam wrażenie) i chyba o to chodzi z Bridget - żeby po prostu dobrze się bawić i odetchnąć od codzienności.

tycker att det kan vara lite segt att läsa i dagboksformat för det blir knte samma flyt som i en ”vanlig” bok. jag gillar dock verkligen bridget och tycker att det är kul att följa hennes liv! 3/5, men skulle inte läsa om den :)

It didn't really work for me. It wasn't as funny as the first one, which I enjoyed quite a lot. This one didn't work the same way. Maybe it will take some time before I read the third one.

Iš tikro, labai sunku vertinti serijos dalis. Jeigu vertinčiau dalį kaip atskirą knygą, nepriklausomą nuo kitų istorijų, tai tikriausiai vertinimas nelabai skirtųsi nuo pirmosios dalies žvaigždučių skaičiaus (tyliai nuėjau į savo įvertinimų istoriją ir pažiūrėjau, kad tų žvaigždučių buvo viso labo dvi...). Vis dėlto, jeigu lyginčiau dalis tarpusavyje, kaip tai padariau šiuo atveju, tai su tokia ironijos šypsenėle pridėjau vieną papildomą žvaigždutę (gal kitos dalys užsitarnaus dar po vieną žvaigždutę).

Bet nuo pradžių. Istorijos pradžia yra identiška visai pirmajai daliai, išskyrus tai, kad veiksmas vyksta Bridžitai jau turint porą, rimtą porą, rimtus santykius. Manyčiau, kad istorijos mintis - labai sunku patikėti, kad kitas žmogus tau gali jausti tikrus jausmus, kai esi tiek kartų nusivylęs. Tikriausiai iš to nepasitikėjimo ir kyla daugiausiai problemų, istorijos vingių vingelių, o iš šių - ir visi linksmi nuotykiai.

Nepameluosiu pasakydama, kad kai kada (per daug dažnai) Bridžita buvo panaši į visiškai kvailą, erzinančią personą. Nežinau, kiek kartų skaitydama net negalėjau iš pykčio jos kvailumui ramiai kvėpuot. Lygiai taip pat kažkas tikriausiai iš jos kvailumo juokėsi. Gaila, kad man toks ironizavimas buvo dažniau graudus nei kėlė šypseną. Vieną kartą netgi kilo mintis, kad knyga turėjo vadintis ne "Ties riba", bet "Gerokai už ribos".

Vis dėlto, ši dalis vis tiek nusipelnė tos vienos žvaigždutės didesnio įvertinimo. Ir viskas tik dėl tos kelionės į Tailandą. Va nuo šios dalies netgi aš suskydau ir keliolika kartų nusišypsojau, o kelis kartus ir garsiai nusijuokiau. Bridita Džouns pralaužė mano ledus.

Bet labai labai trumpai, apie ką ši knyga. Bridžita Džouns - moteris, kuri lyg ir turi savyje optimizmo gyslelę, bet visada tyliai kamputyje sau pripažįsta, kad lyg ir yra per sena, lyg ir per stora, gal ir su draugais per daug išgeria, o gal ir rūkyt nebereiktų. Bet žinot, moralas toks - pastebėkim aplinką ir pastebėkim mus supančius žmones. Bridžitą žmonės ir myli tik dėl to, kad ji yra reali, kad kartais vėluoja, kad kartais nusišneka, kad meta visus darbus ir bėga padėti draugams, kad kartais elgiasi kvailai ir ne visada telpa į S dydžio drabužius. Jeigu ji būtų kitokia, ji nebūtų Bridžita.

Taigi, mylėkim save tokius, kokie esam. Nes būtent tokius mus myli kiti.

Not as fresh and quotable as the first Bridget Jones book, but still a lot of fun. More entertaining if you're familiar with Persuasion, since her references (callbacks?) to it are hilarious. Too sleepy to type more. Read this book if you like funny.

Love the movie, didn't like the book :(

Only read this as got both of the books from a charity shop for about a quid tbh. Shocked but not surprised by the casual and unnecessary use of derogatory, homophobic, and racist language??

This was not as good as the first one...
