If you’re looking for a good book about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – than you should definitely read this one, because this book offer so many value and even if you’re not an expert and have superficial knowledge about SEO, you can see that this book is written by a professional. I was looking for a good book about SEO because I needed to learn more about it, so I can do proper improvements on my Blog in order to improve rankings and get more visitors to it.

The book is fairly long, and you might want to read it and using chapter by chapter in order to check out your site and work on improvements and then continuing on the next chapter. I have to say that I was familiar with SEO because I did read a lot about it online, and I read couple of other books; but everything seems like information are lacking, and this book confirm that. Here is everything laid out in good order, how to detect problem(s), and how to work on fixing those problems(s).

The successful “… for dummies” series of books is known the world over for the diversity of titles provided. Their recognisable covers provide reassurance and familiarity in a world of books that can seem a little daunting to the nervous.

“Search Engine Optimisation for Dummies” by Peter Kent is no exception to the rule. Recently updated into a 4th edition for 2011, the book splits the task of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) up into 23 chapters of detailed information. This allows the reader to tweak their site so that the major internet search engines can find their sites, and hopefully push it up the page rankings.

From basic search techniques to how to submit your site to the search engines, this is a book that does not scrimp on the things that need to be done to make your SEO work effective. There is a lot of information contained within this book, and it can be difficult to keep track of the important notes, but Peter Kent has thought of this, by annotating the pages with symbols that identify important Tips, Warnings and things to Remember.

This is a book that similar to a text book, is designed to be used. The formatting will be familiar to anyone who has picked up a “…for Dummies” book before. This book does not disappoint.
Search Engine Optimisation is a bit of a black art, so anything that will assist a web designer in how to optimise their site for Google, Yahoo and Bing (other search engines are available) will help. This book does that in bucket-loads and will be a worthy edition to any bookshelf.

If you really suck at Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and don't even know what this title is about, please do yourself a favor, get a copy of this book, stop reading my comment and start reading this book.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a profession and a set of fabulous skills that will help you improve your website ranking in a search engine. There are so many little things that go into a website and search engine optimization, very technical things, and you need to know them in order to attract visitors to your website. So, if you read this book, you will have a better understanding of what I am talking about. And seriously, Mr.Peter Kent, the author, has done a tremendous job explaining and demystifying SEO in his book with nice separate chapters and step by step explanation.

So, please save yourself some time. Get a copy of this book. Read it, re-read it, and proof read and go to your website, apply your skills and enjoy your search engine ranking.

Very insightful, with many great resources.

A good overview of key concepts, and likely to remain a good reference even as the particulars become dated.

As an SEO expert myself, I really enjoyed this book.

It was packed with knowledge and very nearly up-to-date too.

Would recommend for anyone in marketing or IT as this is a very wide-spread important area of knowledge.

A lot of this book I already knew, but it was good to review it!

I found this as an okay "Theory Book". Actual implementation either be mastered by watching youtube videos (initially) and then by actual practice on your website. I think, if you want to pass theory then go for it, if not then Youtube.

Overall, it gives a thorough introduction to SEO. However, a lot of the links and resources in the book is totally outdated. You cannot find those websites anymore.
