I thought it would be fun to read something that goes against everything I believe.. and maybe it would have been, if there were even a semblance of scientific evidence or even valid research to make me feel like I was learning something about the opposite viewpoint. Sadly, this book does not have any of that. It’s basically an unfounded diatribe against anything that goes against the white, Christian, American’s right to have creationism taught in schools, gas-guzzling SUV’s, and a healthy hatred for Muslims, homosexuals, scientists, and pretty much any faction of intelligence. Honestly, I didn’t finish this book because it was so infuriatingly unfounded and juvenile. I would equate it to literary version of a Tomi Lahren video.

I loved it. I agree with almost everything she had to say about liberalism as a religion with its immoral sacraments. Great book that reaffirms what many conservatives believe about the godless, mindless, far left. I have read most of her books and enjoy her humor, even though it can be very sarcastic at times.

Excellently written, with very, very good points. Liberals may protest that they are non-religious, but this book throws the doors of their church wide open. 4/5.

No doubt an overly abrasive author but with reason behind her positions.

My first introduction to Ann Coulter, though from the title of this book I expected to have little agreement with her. As with Bill O'Reilly's Culture Warrior, I was amazed to learn that we liberals were so well organized behind such elaborate plots! O'Reilly referred to it as "cultural warfare", where Coulter tries to make it a religious war. I must admit that I found some of this book entertaining and still get an occasional chuckle when I think of one of her arguments against evolution — that there had never been any fossils of mutants found. I wonder what she would consider a mutant — an animal with a fifth leg coming out of its head!? I am also left wondering if she can really believe the foolish things she spouts, or if she's learned how being an outspoken dumb blond can earn some lucrative attention. This book was on the New York Times best seller list for a couple months in the summer of 2006, and was listed in "Books Cited or Recommended" by Richard Dawkins in his book The God Delusion.

I read one of her books and thought it was pretty good, so I decided to read another one and OH BOY was I disappointed. This is utter trash. Its really just polemic. For instance, in her argument against evolution she brings up the tired, basic, absurd criticism that only "micro" evolution can occur, but that "macro" evolution has never been observed. There are some better arguments in there as well, but this is the general sort of intellectual caliber the book entails. She also seems to have trouble with basic evolutionary concepts like "new adaptations have costs which may make them disadvantageous despite appearing casually superior". She literally ridicules that exact notion. I don't know why she spends so much point on the evolution point, its just so cringeworthy. There are some good eviscerations of liberalism in here. She points out a few scenarios wherein liberals behave crazily the way religious people do, and seek to restructure society in accordance with their tenents of faith. But its generally a fact free journey through the political landscape of the mid 2000s. Read Adios America instead.

I have a weird facination with American politics.

It's a fairly new facination, founded in my mid teens and not really expanded upon until a few years ago when the 2008 presidential election exploded into the stratosphere and reignited my passion for trying to wrap my brain around what exactly makes Americans tick. I do have American cousins, but, they're middle class southeners more interested in pagents that politics, so really all I have to go for some in depth explanation are books like these, and that's not always a good thing.

So, this book was recommended by a professor of mine, an American liberal who incidentally loves Jon Stewart and holds Ann Coulter around the same level of contempt my Dad has for Margaret Thatcher, aka, even the mention of her name flares nostrils and bulges veins.

So, that to me suggested that perhaps Ann Coulter help some sort of rational, reasoned views and arguments that my professor thought it vital to share.
Not quite.
Turns out the guy just thought it was funny to try and press my buttons.

I'm not sure whether it's just because I'm English or was raised in a tolerant household open to debate and accepting to views, but for the life of me, I don't get it.

I don't get how a person like Ann Coulter, or whilst we're on the subject let's crack out the Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck cards as well, can not only carve out a mainstream, popular and successful career spouting such hateful and ridiculous views, but have millions of people listening to them and taking what they say seriously.

Or really, putting it in perspective British politics are slightly different. America is naturally more skewed towards the right with policies, opinion and popularity hinged upon issues which over here are regarded as the bigoted view of the far right parties and barely worth the time of mainstream politics.

Perhaps that's what confuses me so much. Perhaps over in America it really is this petty and ridiculous rivalry between those who split themselves between liberalism and conservatism, with bestselling books and widely viewed TV shows geared solely towards attacking the other and calling them names better suited to a school playground.

I just don't get it, this Ann Coulter phenomenon which appears to be sweeping the nation across the pond.

Maybe I'm a moron.

Or maybe Ann Coulter just sucks

Oh, and so did this book in case you couldn't tell.

p.s. I cannot display my utter delight at the fact I didn't fork out for this purtid mess - save Britains libraries! In fact, let's get political, boo Government spending cuts!

Love all of Ann’s books. She doesn’t pull any punches, speaks her mind, and drones not care about being “POLITICALLY CORRECT,” and for the most part, speaks the truth. She does not pretend to be someone that she is not, and that is why the Liberals hate her!!

Of all the books, a refreshing and new insightful perspective.

Where do I start?

From abortion to science to media, crime, family, she demolished every liberal epithet.
