Not a good cookbook. It takes a recipe (such as beef stew) and prints it twenty times with one or two ingredient alterations in each. So you're getting a lot less variety than it promises to give. On top of that, the recipes just don't taste very good.

No-nonsense cooking. I rely on a Crock Pot for busy days, but at the end of those days, food is just... boiled.

This is the best slow cooker cookbook. I'm always trying different recipes from this cookbook and they turn out good. What makes this book better than other slow cooker cookbooks is that the recipes are submitted by the average person. They have perfected the recipes to satisfy their families and the passed them on to us.

I loved all the variety and I especially liked the hints in the back. What a great idea to put substitute ingredients in the back of the book.

I'm always looking for good food to make in my crockpot. Sadly, in the hundreds of recipes in this book, very few of them could be called good food. Too many cans of cream-of-something soup, and too few plain ol' fresh ingredients.

From my blog...[return]As soon as I discovered my all-time favourite, foolproof cookbook was being released in a revised and updated version I had to have it! The Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook by Phyllis Pellman Good is now even better than before, and personally I did not think it could get better. The revised and updated version contains the same recipes my family loves with an additional 100 recipes totaling 700 Slow Cooker recipes for those who love their crock-pots. Anyone who knows me is fully aware that I detest cooking, however, crock-pot cooking is foolproof and so quick and easy, especially following the recipes from Fix-It and Forget-It Cookbook. In addition to adding more recipes, each recipe includes the prep time, cooking time, and ideal crock-pot size. Pellman also included tip pages for substitutions, using a crock-pot, measurement equivalents, necessary kitchen tools, helpful advise and a greatly improved index. I have yet to find a better cookbook than Good's Fix-It and Forget It Cookbook and I would not hesitate to recommend to everyone.

A lot of the recipes call for processed ingredients. Many recipes are essentially repeated, although this can be a good thing if you really want to make a certain meal but need to find a recipe that only uses what you have on hand.

This is my ALL-TIME favorite cookbook (especially in the winter). You can just throw the ingredients in your crockpot and literally walkaway. My favorite recipe is the Chicken Tortilla Soup. TRY IT, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

I love my slow cooker but I do not love pouring canned soup over everything. With that taken into consideration, there were only a few recipes that appealed to me. Also, beef plus condensed mushroom soup does not equal beef stroganoff. But having a few new recipes to try made it worth the read.

I got a lot of neat ideas from the recipe book. I have a whole slew of things to cook up now and ideas for things that I've been looking askance at in the pantry. I was also intrigued by the idea of baking bread in the slow cooker or preparing artichokes. Who knew?

A friend of mine shared some recipes out of this book with me over the week-end . I HAD to buy myself a copy of this cookbook today ! I read the backs of the cereal box , so why not read a cook book ?
Seriously it is a great book with wonderful recipes in it . I plan to add a few of the other Fix It and Forget It books to my cookbook collection ;-)

Wow does this have some awesome recipes! I am constantly grabbing it in the evening to decide what to fix for dinner the next day. I am a housewife but it does free up my day a lot knowing that dinner is cooking and I don't have to do to much! LOL
