I am not really one for diet cookbooks, but the library had it so I thought I would check it out. I was pleasantly surprised. There are alot of good recipes that I can see us eating and all the ingredients are normal- not diet this and weird ingredient that. It was worth the look.

I found about 50 recipes to keep from this book, so I'd call that a win. The downside is it's from 2011 and uses the PointsPlus system instead of the current PersonalPoints system. Still, there are some good recipes, and you can search by PointsPlus value which could still be useful.

This is really a great cookbook. Tons of recipes that are easy to make and call for mostly on-hand or easy-to-get ingredients. Very tasty for being so low in fat and calories.

Includes Points Plus values from 2011. Similar to 2008 version including stocks, rubs, dressings, etc. so you know exactly what you're putting in your mouth. Pretty basic recipes but in a much improved format from earlier versions.

Not too shabby for vegetarian-friendly recipes. Most of the book, barring the Meat + Poultry section is veg-happy.

One of the goals I started off 2012 with has been to post reviews of cookbooks that I have read or tried recipes from and share with you, my journey through what I like to call "cook(book)ing school" - how to become a great cook without going to cooking school. In the process, I hope to create what I hope will become a pretty impressive cookbook collection. (Check out my new blog at http://cookbookingschool.wordpress.com)

Since 2012 began, I have also been on a kick to try my best to eat healthy. One of my other goals for the new year was also to pick up a copy of the Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook, to begin my cookbook collection. I love this book because 1) all of the recipes come already calculated with Weight Watchers Points Plus and 2) the book came with a free subscription to Weight Watchers Magazine. 2 great benefits if you ask me! The only thing I would criticize about this book is that there are not enough photos, however, I do like the fact that the book is made like a 3-ring binder with dividers for each section which makes it easy to find recipes. So far, I haven't cooked anything from the cookbook yet but as soon as I do, I will post an update to let you know how it turned out.

I wasn't sure what to think of what type of recipes would be in this book. Some of the recipes are really good (and easy) while others end up with a bland taste.

Good recipes but I really wish they used more photos. Picked up at the dollar store for a steal though!
