Great second book of the series

The second book starts many years after the first. Nealy is the main character. She is in her middle age. What can the successful Kentucky horse broader, Triple Crown winning jockey, Kentucky farm owner do for her second act of life? Can she find true love? Or is her true love her horses and herself

The second is as good as the first

This story carries on where the first left off. The storytelling is great and keeps you engaged. The characters are filled in a little more than in the first book, and Neal's character is given more detail.

If you like Kentucky, if you like horses, and if you like family, you will love this book. I wasn’t really sure in the beginning but by the end of the book I was amazed

I didn’t think it was possible for a series to go downhill so quickly. I don’t know what on earth happened between book one and two but it kind of left me flabbergasted. Nealy so drastically changed and became a character I hated with a passion. Not to mention she’s an absolutely terrible mother, who choses horses over their own children?! I definitely won’t be wasting my time on the final book in the trilogy, this one was enough of a waste of my time as it is!

2nd book of a 3 book series. I have read some of the reviews and I was kind of shocked that some people hated it. I thought it was written well and made you feel like you were sitting on their porch in Ky and watch and listening to what was going on. Maybe some people don't like horses or what is involved with them??? I enjoyed it!!!

Fun

The continuing saga of Neely Clay, horses, and love life.
Enjoyable. Barn and horses in very very broad strokes but you will get the idea.

The continuing saga of the Kentucky Colemans--Nealy Coleman Diamond Clay and her family living on a thoroughbred horse farm in Kentucky. The Colemans fight, they find new loves, and they manage to survive and/or succeed at nearly everything: storms, winning the Triple Crown for a second time, and more. Or to put it as the author says time and again, in novel after novel: It is what it is. One question for the author though (and it may be answered in the third book of the series): with all money and power this family has, why wasn't breast reconstruction surgery ever mentioned or considered for the character of Ruby Thornton Parish?
