Inspirational!

This book was very inspirational and touching. It definitely makes you realize and validate that God truly does give everyone a dream in this life an out job is to pursue it as we walk along with Him seeking Him in all we do to achieve our dreams for His greater purpose and our greatest fulfillment.

when a book is an easy read and not a slog that alone makes for a good experience regardless of content. the book takes a thematic tilt to be very very inspired by the pilgrim's progress and thus the mixture of allegorical narrative with explanation and thought then formed to explain the allegory is a wonderful take. the publisher and writer made the right call separating the two things. even if you're not a Christian the first half of the book (the allegory) is perfectly smooth and enjoyable while uplifting without forcing a question of life and faith. the second half saves the application with Christ which is still done through the example of the efforts of the author living a life of risk for the pursuit of his own dreams.

I really liked this book. This book focuses on a character named Ordinary who lives in the Land of Familiar. His whole life they stick to the same thing and they don't stray from their learned routines. One day Ordinary receives a white feather and realizes it's a dream from the Dream Giver. He decides it's a good idea to pursue this dream. His Best Friend and family members encourage him not to but he decides to push forward. It's scary and new but he listens to the Dream Giver and decides that this is what he's supposed to do. Ordinary faces giants and people who try to be in his way from succeeding in his dream. God helps us overcome our giants who try to prevent us from our dreams. He cannot take away our fears but He can help us overcome them. I really liked the message and the way the author explained his point. I think it's important for us to work through our fears and not let them stop us from reaching our goals and dreams. The author makes this book very applicable to the readers. It's very easy to understand and so that's definitely a strong point.

What if everyone is given a dream. While most ignore it, there are some that actually pursue this given gift. The journey of following this dream does come at a cost: comfort, fears, sacrifice, and even heartbreak/ disappointment. In the "Dream Giver," Wilkinson shares this message through what some could consider a modern day "Pilgrims Progress" (yet geared towards God given dreams). After sharing this story, he expounds upon the truths that are settled throughout this book. Dreams/Desires/ Destiny is given by God, and the goal is not achieving the dream but knowing and enjoying the One who gives the dream (God). Good but not deep. Somewhat practical. Overall encouraging.

Encouraging and practical

Easy to read; exciting to read, and; encouraging to read. Follow the dream you’ve been given, but more importantly, follow the dream giver.

I think the book was a little too religious for my liking. But I was still able to translate very useful tips from a non-religious point of view.

I read the Spanish version of this book and found some mistakes. As a professional translator, this bothered me a bit, but I think that someone who doesn't do that for a living wouldn't really care or even notice, so I'm not too upset about it; just enough to mention it and then let it go.

The overall message about following your dreams was inspiring to me. Even when there was so much God talk in it. So I enjoyed most parts of the book, I just had to analyze it with my own words and give it my own useful meaning.

I rarely take notes on my bullet journal about books I'm reading, but this one made it to the paper to remind myself to keep holding on.

Bruce Wilkinson has out done himself with THE DREAM GIVER. I am now thoroughly motivated to step out toward fulfilling my own personal dream given to me. I praise God for the work of this great man.

This was an excellent read. I followed this in collaboration with the prayer of Jabez as it enhances my ability to dream bigger, to trust my visions, idea and purpose and to collaborate that in conjunction with asking God to bless me. This book along with The prayer of Jabez took me into a place. This book captured my spirit and allowed me to change my life and trust that my purpose as a writer will bloom ordinarily because I asked God to bless me. If your seeking a feeling of more certainty, this is your guide. Wishing you well.

Freshmen year when my brother and his friends graduated was when I started thinking about what I wanted to do after I graduate and in the future. I was interested in sports science and sports medicine, but I knew that dreams won't come true easily. People around me had shown me that. However, at the same time, other people around me proved to me that it isn't impossible. Reading this book helped me understand that people who make their dream come true had to come over many obstacles and difficulties. People who weren't quite able to stand the harsh reality were the people whose dreams, unfortunately, didn't come true.
"Nobody" becoming a "somebody". The names of the characters were simple, yet deep. Nobody is a "nobody". Everybody is a "somebody" for someone. Nevertheless in this book, it is something different. "Nobody" represents people who live a life that they are somewhat unhappy with. The people who didn't try, or gave up what they really wanted. Only when a "nobody" reaches what they've really wanted to do, they become a "somebody".
This book is an inspiring book. However, dreams and hope are never enough. Reality may be harsh, and it may be tough, but the reality is what helps you stay calm, and is what helps you make the right decisions. I recommend this book to people who are worried about the future, and people who once gave up to make a dream come true.
