Probably 3.5 stars. You can’t not absolutely love Sherlock and his deductive stills, complete stoicism, and his many quirks. There are several incredible stories within Volume II but some of the later stories lack the voice and grace that the reader has grown accustomed to over many Holmes stories.

One thing that is ideal about Sherlock is the short nature of the stories: they make great audio books and they can be squeezed into a busy day due to their relative brevity.

I have been struggling for a long time with this half of the book. I loved, loved the first half. And completely understand why people were so upset when Arthur Conan Doyle killed Sherlock Holmes. But the stories in the second half seem more abrasive. Sherlock Holmes more demeaning and hurtful towards the character Watson. The stories are still but there is this feeling while listening or reading that seems to push the character Sherlock Holmes into uncharacteristic qualities. I am not sure but there seems to be more negativity or ruthlessness in the second half. And I am not your typical writing critic. It just doesn't feel the same. After all these months of not getting anything accomplished I have decided to stop. But I will not quit being a Sherlock Holmes Fan.

I would personal rate this a 6 out of 5 because I love the book but the scale stops at five. I would recommend this book to anyone who reads before they go to sleep or have a lot of time just warning if you love mystery this book would stick to your hands. This book contains multiple short stories and is an adventure, mystery and a classic set in London. The stories start from how Holmes faked his death and continues from there. If one is looking to teach allusion, this is book for them because this has at lest one per case. One good item from this book is the author sometime would include the background of the case. There are even bigger fans than me. In South America the is a word named after Sherlock Holmes, "Sherlocholmitos,". It means clever little deductions.
