I only read A Very Vampy Christmas by Kerrelyn Sparks as I'm reading her vampire series.

This was Don Orlando and Maggie's story.

I picked this up for the Sparks story, but apparently I've already read it. The rest were blah. I was okay with the second and second to last stories. The rest I could have done without.

Out of all the animals to be bitten by and be forced to be transformed into during a full moon a jack rabbit is just sad. How the hell did it bite you?? That was the strangest thing I think I have ever heard of.

I really enjoyed these stories. There were a couple of authors that I had read before so I knew characters in these stories but I also enjoyed the stories by authors that I had not read before. All together a fun Christmas read. #readforkimberly

Alright, this was a whole lot of "what the hay?" So the rating is rounded UP. The first tale... Umm...chicklit? Kinda dumb. Second had some...issues. Third one was... Huh?! Fourth had a OCD chick who would drive ME nuts, Fifth one was pretty cute, last one...Ok, I've read most all of Sparks' series so I was more than a little puzzled at the H/h both expressing surprise at the thought of shifters.

I only read the Kerrelyn Sparks part of this book, because i like the Love at Stake series. But this short-story was forced and weird.

Originally I was only planning on reading Kerrelyn Sparks Love at Stake story -- A Very Vampy Christmas, but since it is December I decided to go ahead and get in the Christmas mood with a little Holiday reading.

I have to say that I was not too impressed with the first 3 stories in the book. It was very apparent that the characters in the stories were from series that I have not read and that caused the short stories hard to follow. I really felt like I had missed a lot and jumped into the stories in the middle of something.

However the book was redeemed by the last 3 stories. I quite enjoyed the stories by Cait London, Suzanne Macpherson and Kerrelyn Sparks. They all read great as stand alone stories and had interesting story lines and likable characters.

I only ready A Very Vampy Christmas by Kerrelyn Sparks, and this was a very good story and I was know what mostly happened when I read the other books but it was nice to actually read Maggie and Pierce (Don Orlando) story, and what really happened to Pierce when a voodoo priestess used a love spell and a memory spell on poor Pierce and who he was turned by Tootsie and Scarlet in New Orleans. With the help of 15 year old looking Ian McPhie Maggie and Peerce they find his family and his were shifting coyote uncle and a rabbit sister.

A charming set of Christmas family and romance stories with a hint of the supernatural thrown into some of them.

A Very Vampy Christmas – Kerrelyn Sparks

This is actually the only short story I read in this anthology but for those who follow Love at Stake, it's worth it. It's a follow up of the second book in the series, Vamps and the City, and Maggie got the job at DVN. She is a leading actress in "As a Vampire Turns" playing the part of Don Orlando de Corazon's lover.

Their story is great, filled with hilarious details. I never thought Sparks would make me like Don Orlando but the twist to his story was very good. Tootsie and Scarlet made me laugh out loud. All the references to soup operas were so silly they turned out funny. And the Christmas dinner by the end with all its revelations can be considered predictable but the reactions of each character and the details made me really like the story.
