I enjoyed this book so much with regards to the country setting. In the beginning chapters, I couldn't relate to all the characters involved in the TV studio business, until Jeremy's move to the little town came along.

I do feel however that it deserves a 5 star rating, because it really separates young adult love to purely adult, looking to fill each other's void! With that said, Lexie was a good character, but I felt that he didn't get to know her as their relationship rolled on, because she kept pushing him back!!

There are ghosts in Boone Creek, N.C; Jeremy is an investigative reporter who has come to debunk the mystery in this Mayberry-like small town. Jeremy falls in love with Lexie, the librarian but their relationship is tempestuous. Lexie's mother gets involved along with an interfering mayor and a Barney type deputy. This was a likeable story with a Hallmark movie quality. Loved it.

This is a sequel to another Sparks book, but this one is superior in my mind. It tells of the struggles of two people in a whirlwind romance and their marriage, pregnancy and subsequent death of one of them. I bawled more in this book than any other book of Sparks because I could relate to the struggles of giving birth and facing harsh consequences that stem from a difficult birth. If you like Sparks, don't just read this, buy it! You will find you will want to read it more than once.

As always it started off slow but it gets better. True Believer is a giant
Leap of faith & hope of love for someone that you have for someone special.
We all have feelings for someone but some are just superficial & there is
One that is true feelings of love. That was true for Jeremy & Lexie in this book.
We go thru this in our lives, sometimes It doesn’t work out for most, just a fing
But sometimes you truly know the person is your true love. It’s a learning process to find out all you can about the person before it gets serious.
Reading this book early morning was suspenseful & scary but enjoyable.

"So tell me, Mr. Science Journalist, do you still doubt the existence of miracles."
"I just told you. You're my miracle."

My first Nicholas Sparks' book, and it was so good! This was beautifully written. There was never a boring part, and I REALLY enjoyed it. I didn't expect it to be 5/5, but I would lie to myself if I just rate it 4 because of how entertaining it was. omg. I'm not even exaggerating, but it's been a while since I've read a book this good

Is it the mystery of ghostly lights or the emptiness of heart that draws a big city New Yorker to No Wheresville, NC?

This is my least favorite Nicholas Sparks book. There is little depth of character and a shallow storyline. I have come to love his books for the atmospheric coastal settings and he has done so well with it in other novels. I'm not sure if I will read the second in this set.

This book was pretty good. It was a cute little romance story—a classic big-city man vs a small-town girl love story. Jeremy and Lexie were always so cute. However, I felt that the big secret that Jeremy was hiding from the reader and everyone else was sooooooooo obvious that when it was finally revealed I simply did not care for it. Also, the answer to the big mystery of the strange lights in the town was soooo boring that I also did not care for it. I did feel like Jeremy and Lexie's relationship moved pretty quickly since they only knew each other for like a week yet they claimed to be in love with each other. But I guess true love or whatever. Also, I for sure think that Doris only persuaded Jeremy to come back to Boone Creek because she knew that Lexie was pregnant. So in a way, it felt like this was all staged or a set-up. But whatever. Am I happy about their pregnancy? I mean I guess it's cool because it's literally a miracle, but I just know that this is a huge step for their week-long relationship. Can't wait to see how this changes things between them in the next book!

It's been a while since I last read a Nicholas Sparks novel but when I started reading this one it reminded me again of why I love this author. Almost straight from page 1 he gets me into the story. And knows how to keep you interested. Sometimes you can figure the story out while reading it but that wasn't the case here. It kept me wondering how it would end till the end. All in all a good read.

This was my first time reading this, which is surprising because I do enjoy Nicholas Sparks books. (Slowly slowly making our way through the backlist!) Off the bat, you can tell this is older. And at first I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the ghost/investigative journalist aspect but it wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. I loved the banter between Jeremy and Lexie but towards the later half of the book I was annoyed with the back and fourth. Either get together or don’t but omg. Lol. Something the side stories were a little overdone too. *cough* Rodney. I just found him to be kinda annoying
