Really easy to understand. Some information and examples looks outdated, though. Even if basics of usability haven’t changed, but some concepts and approaches, which are used nowadays are slightly different.

One of the shortest but sweetest books on web usability you can ever read. While it is website focused the learnings here almost fully apply to web and mobile apps (the revised edition also updates the book to the then new world of smartphones).

Being such a short read this should be a book you HAVE TO read if you work with anything that is web related.

Includes a lot of good points, so works well as a handbook for people interested in or doing webdesign or usability. Some points I knew of beforehand, while others were new to me, including chapter 11 about accessibility and 12 about what to do if your boss wants a design that you don't believe will work. The book is from 2006 so uses examples from old websites, however, the points made from these sites can still be helpful.

It will be a book that I will be continually look back on once in a while to brush up on usability tips and tricks. Also includes a lot of great references to other books and articles about usability design.

The book that would never get old or outdated. Just a perfect example how a book without any code samples can bring you value you will never find in the programming manuals.

Some great pointers which will definitely take into consideration. However, slightly out dated in parts which is no fault of its own, it’s just that UX / Design trends change over time. Time for a ‘Don’t Make Me Think, Revisited, Revisited’?

please don't make me explain how it's possible that I've been a UX designer for 4+ years and haven't actually read this book before. It's well-written and helpful but not actually anything new/particularly helpful for me, which makes sense, bc I've been a UX designer for 4+ years. But this is one of The Books of UX for a reason I guess!! No notes*

*sorry, one note. The responsive/mobile section is pretty out of date at this point. Not WRONG per se but lol

An incredible read! Of all the books I have read thus far in 2020, this book has been the most refreshing read. It discusses the importance, do’s and don’ts, and challenges and mitigation of user experience design in a very simple, interactive, and graphic way. For my generation this book will invoke responses such as, “oh! That’s why this is the way it is!” pretty often. For people in my parents generation, it would bring about a much required level computing and design literacy. I strongly recommend anyone reading this review to read this book soon!

This is a fantastic book, with an easy to read format and an engaging style.

Inevitably given its subject, even this updated version feels a little outdated at times but it remains a classic introduction to website usability and the importance of user testing and the arguments Krug makes in favour of both are timeless.

A great read

If you're designing your first product/service or trying to figure out "how to make your product actually good" the chapter on testing alone is worth the price of the book.

As you've probably read in other reviews, there are no secrets in this book but sometimes you just need someone to help you remember the obvious and already known.
