I was around 11-12 when I discovered this series and devoured the first two books which I had found in the library. Then after months of fruitless searching, I had to come to the conclusion that the rest had never been translated into my language.

A decade later, in the age of ebooks, and with my since earned English proficiency, I was reminded of these books once more. At first, I was scared I wouldn't like them anymore now that I'm not 12. I shouldn't have been. Yes, they are books for children without doubt. But so enjoyable even for adults. Everything Aiden and Meg went through, the twists and turns, the unbelievable escapes, you couldn't help but root for them, obviously.

If you're ever looking for a quick and fun series to read, something to possibly get you out of a reading funk, give this a chance, I don't think you'll regret it.

This was a very fun and light series to read over Christmas break, ah middle grade adventure thrillers. A fun fact about Gordon Korman is that he's only 61 years old which seems strange considering he was already crazy prolific when I was a kid and reading his books BUT he started writing his Macdonald Hall series when he was a teenager! (His first book was actually a grade 7 English assignment or something.) So when I was 10 he was only 31 which now seems like a totally crazy age to have published a ton of well-loved and established kids novels. Awesome!

Also this series gives me so much insight into Gen Z's childhood technology. For millenials like me I remember childhood without cell phones or internet, and this series was interesting in that cell phones and internet existed and were ubiquitous but people also still used tape recorders and newspapers haha. What a crazy changing world.

Ooh my, Ooh my, it's amazing how worried a book can make you, the tension, on most cases I just wanted to jump to the last pages and see how this children will end up, it's amazing

Aiden and Meg finally know who is hunting them, it's the man they were looking for all along. Hairless Joe is actually Hairless Frank Lindenaur...the man the kids need to free their parents. Frank was an ex CIA man who duped their parents into thinking they were working for the government against terrorists but when Frank couldn't be found at trial their parents were deemed guilty as traitors. Since then the family has been split and the kids have been trying to find Frank to prove their parents innocence. Now they know their enemy is close and this feels like their last chance so Aiden is determined to capture Frank putting himself in great danger with no regard to his own life. Meg won't stand for that so she takes matters into her own hands to keep her brother safe but also capture Frank. As things come to a head the action is tense as we follow both kids on their missions. Hopefully this will be the end to them being chased and their parents can be set free.

At last! This “trilogy” is over! Yay!!
This was a very adventurous set of books.
Now I can get back to what I started not too long ago… Dystopian Trilogy Book 2!!!

Note to mom: I dunno. These kids are taking risks that I still haven’t taken. Now I think of it, you’ve taken some of these risks already. Maybe this series wouldn’t be as shocking for you as it was for me!

I am sorry it is over. Great humor and action throughout. The references to the crime novels was always entertaining!

Finished rereading this series to my kids. Nicely plotted cat-and-mouse game between the kids and the assassin and the FBI. Will probably go on to the sequel series.

What a twist. I love this series and would recommend it to anyone.

Hunting the Hunter was a great book full of adventure. This book is about two kids who are trying to capture this guy that they think has the answers they need to get there parents out of jail. At the same time this guy is trying to kill these to kids so they don’t share the truth with everyone. This is a book that I would recommend if you like short exciting reads. I really like it because I love short reads and that have a lot of detail in them while still being really short. The book keeps the reader engaged with cliff hangers so they make you have to keep reading. 10/10 book, it is a series though so if you wanna start on the first book it is called Chasing the Falconers, by Gordon Korman.

Last book of the set. It was a good read. I enjoyed all of them. I would recommend this series. I found it content wise to be more for teens or adults even though it is by a kids author.
