The title speaks for itself. 12 year old Meg continues her ordeal in part 3, this last book of the series. 'Good enough to make me willing to listen to the entire series (since each was only about 2 1/2 hours), but I'm not sure I'll backtrack to the previous 6 part series it kept referencing.
The book,"Kidnapped ,the rescue" by Gordon Korman is about how Megan Falconer is lost in the snowy mountains after her escape from kidapper's. In the mean time, the Falconers, including her brother who has been trying to look for her, and the FBI have been trying to track down where she could be.They were given hints by Meg to help them. The blogg man that was supposedly where on the falconers side turned his back on them having a ransom against them in a black mine in nowhere trying to kill the falconers from revenge. What I liked about this book is that it had lots of action to it. I also like how they put a little twist to it by having a person they thought was on their side turn their back on them. This made the book more interesting and keeps you on your feet. What I disliked is that bad things kept on happening and I just wanted it to end. I recommended this book to my friend and she is now loving the series. So I believe lots of other young children like us would love to read this series. This would also be very interesting for adults because it is about high action of kidnapping.
This was a very good book. It was the third and last of the series. Aiden and Agent Harris are looking for Meg who escaped from her kidnappers and is running. When she finally finds a cabin it turns out to be her kidnappers cabin and she is recaptured. She gets taken to an old abandoned mine. Her parents arvie there and end up captive too. When Aiden and Agent Harris arive the kidnappers are armed and ready. Meg and Aiden get trapped in the tunnels and escape from a hole in top. I would suggest this book to people who like adventure and people who have read the first two books.
There's a funny thing about series endings that I've noticed, with this book series, On The Run, and Pyrates. In each case, the final book of the series is boring for a little over the first half, then suddenly gets very exciting as things begin to wrap up and come to a satisfying conclusion that ties up all the loose ends nicely.
That's the case here. There's a lot going on, but mostly in the second half. The kidnappers' plot turns out to be more complicated than originally expected; kidnapping is in fact a means to a very different end, and two of the kidnappers involved were unaware of that from the very beginning. But the bad guys already were starting to chafe; one of them had even turned against the others and set Meg free in the previous book. It isn't long before that particular kidnapper, having turned to the side of the captive and those trying to rescue her, joins the heroes, though treated under suspicion the entire time.
It's the characters that drive this particular book. Their different motivations drive their actions, which in turn drive the plot. It becomes a bit chaotic and fast-moving, but also turns the second half of this book into a real page-turner.
Best book in the series. The plot twist was good although I already saw it coming. Only problem is that the parents were stupid till the end. Especially considering that they are criminologists. Okay, they were under a lot of pressure but they can't be that silly right?
