This book is a must read for any lawyer, especially new lawyers. It is written in a highly sarcastic tone and makes fun of everything about the firm lifestyle. I laughed the whole time. The ending was a bit off, but up until then I was enjoying it. The main character reminded me of a few lawyers I know, which made it even funnier/sad. The character basically says what a lot of people actually are thinking but would never admit to in real life.

Most of us know a narcissist or two.
Not my favorite personality to choose being around.
The anonymous lawyer who is writing the blogs happens to be the king of narcissism.
I disliked him immediately; as is the point. I did, however, see fleeting moments of his kinder side, which made no difference.
As Petra reminds us not to read while drinking hot coffee, there were many funny paragraph's throughout the book.
At points it became a little repetitive. Maybe the book could have been shorter to adjust for that.
He certainly is smart, and absolutely on the money of how office politics is played, especially when it becomes "partner" time. But-this guy who already is a partner wants to become the Chairman.
Ya still have to play the game if you are competitive.
This book says all the things one is thinking but can't say.

There are points in this book where I actually laughed out loud, it's a great caricature of the legal profession and maybe one thats all too true. It is written as a narrative in a series of blog articles and emails so it's a quick read either way. Check out anonymouslawyer.blogspot.com to get a feel for it before you buy.

This is hilarious. Some bad language. Written in blog form about a corporate lawyer. At times you feel for the guy but mostly you think he deserves it. Anyone who knows anything about life as an associate in a big-city firm - this is even better.

Funny. The inner workings of a high profile lawyer's mind as he plots to be Chairman of the firm and as he views the summer interns and law in general.

very creative. i really enjoyed the format that allowed for my imagination to fill in the gaps inbetween each blog post or email.

It was hilarious. Maybe because it was a similar world to the I-Banking one I experienced, but either way, I laughed out loud regularly and didn't want to put it down. I learned that even blog-based stories can make a novel and an excellent read.

Slightly over the top with a predictable ending but it was wickedly funny!

I laughed at it a few times, which is why it gets three stars. It was only funny because I worked in a place just like the one the author describes ... even though he pretends its satire. I'd call it more "creative non-fiction." A quick read/guilty pleasure.

I re-read this last week; wanted to be sure it made it here. A very fun and funny book. It presents the law industry and senior partners as a bunch of terrifying monsters, and it's one of the funniest reads I've had in a long time. Told in blog posts and emails, it's also not a bad story. Covering the climb one lawyer has from partner to the top, it's a bigoted, insulting, stereotypical, elitist laugh, and I highly recommend it.

The book is structured as blog posts and emails, which has always been a voyeuristic pleasure of mine. It's clever and surprisingly fun to read, despite how much of a jerk the 'partner' is. I want to know more!
