I found this at my parents house and in the front cover, it had a cute letter written from my grandma to my sister back in like 2010. So I said, why not, cause it's Christmas and I want to get in the Christmas spirit. Plus, it's written by Louisa May Alcott (although as much as I love the story line of Little Women, wasn't a huge fan of the book). I found myself thinking the same thing about this book - I just wasn't really a fan. This book is a compilation of about 20 short stories and have something to do with Christmas. I feel bad for saying this, but I found most of the stories boring and most of the time, I skimmed through them. Of the 20 stories, I would say I really only enjoyed about 3-5 of them. There was one about Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, which I of course LOVED so that was a perk. But that was about it...

I have determined that I will read this book every year right before Christmas, it made me forget myself and made me step into the lives of the rich and poor alike which made me feel really happy and grateful for everything I have and made me feel ashamed of my yearly twinge of disappointment if I don't get something I really want for Christmas.
The stories were really adorable and unlike most books of short stories, I had the urge to sit down and read the whole book at once. Instead, I used it as a reward, I’d tell myself “Do two History questions on the Study Guide and then you can read another short story.”
I have always said I belong in the late 18th century, so I felt completely at home.

I read two short stories and a poem.

I love Little Women. This, unlike Little Women, was sentimental and sappy. I liked the poem, but the stories were not my cup of tea. I may try reading the other stories some future Christmas. I'm quite disappointed.
