A fascinating book about the rise, fall, and rise again of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre of the SSPX. A traditionalist through-and-through, Msgr. Lefebvre was a man of his convinctions, even enough to stand up to the Pope. A remarkable book that darts in and out of time to weave together a compelling story of this great man's life.

Heartbreaking ...

Why? My in-depth answer is in a long review with quotes here: http://corjesusacratissimum.org/2011/...

But the short answer is that this is a work of art poignantly depicting the tragedy of Vatican II and the courage and clarity of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.

But as I say in my review, this book may reduce you to tears ... if you care about the fate of the Church.

This book is excellent!

As someone who has read both The Little Story of My Long Life (the story of the Archbishop told by himself) as well as the biography of Archbishop Lefebvre that is written by His Excellency Bishop Tissier de Mallerais, I learnt so much about the dear Archbishop's life, but not in such a way that anything was terribly repeated from the other biographies.

It is beautifully written and has given me so much extra context to all that I already know about the Archbishop. This is no wonder, since this author has clearly done meticulous research, with him gathering quotes and stories from more than fourteen books written by or about Archbishop Lefebvre.

Archbishop Lefebvre, Madame Lefebvre and Mother Marie Gabriel, pray for us!
