I traveled back in time JUST so I could read this book again. Some guy tried to shoot me from this grassy knoll and missed, so that was a relief. Totally worth it though.

Listen, am I judging this as I would the work of Melville, Joyce, or Pynchon? Well, actually, I bet Pynchon would love/has loved reading the works of Swartzwelder. It's the same tempos and idiosyncrasies of prime-era Simpsons, but put into a buggy noir plot. What do you people want from an afternoon read?

Ok but… what?

I guess zany is the right word to describe this book. It’s hilarious but makes very little sense. Very clear it was written by someone best known for writing cartoons.
Once you just let go and accept there’s no normal logic in this book the sooner you’ll love it.
