Two down, one to go in this epic trilogy by Bryce Courtenay. I really enjoyed this tale that followed the life of two brothers after they are reunited following their kidnapping as young boys. It ends on a cliffhanger so now I have to decide if I jump into the third book right away or take a break for a bit. Decisions, decisions...lol!!
Finally finished this door stopper of a book. Not as good as the first one. It ended with a cliffhanger (of course) so I’ll be listening to the final book in this series.
The second in a series and this was my favourite Courtenay writing yet! Not to be sexist, but much of this tale would appeal to a man. I had no trouble reading any of it as the pace was perfect and thus, the story unfolded and became the adventure I was hoping for. Tommo, Hawk, Maggie and Mary amd so many other characters so well portrayed and all so varied as they should be. I’ll take a breather from Courtenay’s tomes and look forward to # 3!
OMG what a book! The story of Tommo and Hawke will have you captivated. The tale of their lives, their adventures and their family will entertain you for hours. I’ll definitely read it again in a few years. This one will be a keeper in my bookshelf.
And again, actor Humphrey Bower’s narration is magnificent.
The Story continues with Tommo and Hawk, the 2nd instalment in the Potato Factory trilogy. Set in New Zealand and Australia…amazing vivid descriptions.
Haunting, brutal and unbelievably sad but a beautiful epic tale.
Looking forward to reading the last book in the trilogy. My tissues are ready.
