If you’re looking to find out a bit more about J.K. Rowling or a little bit about the making of Harry Potter this book is a really great quick read to give you some more information into her life and how Harry Potter came to be.

Even though this book is extremely short and extremely easy to read I think it is just perfect for a writing lesson. Since J.K. Rowling is well known throughout the world I think this would be perfect to give students during a writing lesson because it will allow them to see that even she was not perfect in school and need help with learning to write well. Even that her characters come from some of the teachers she had, such as Snape. It will help students understand that writing is a process; people do not simply sit down and instantly have a work of art.

Overall, it is a quick read and is just question and answer between Fraser and Rowling so there is not much substance to it. But sometimes simple is best, and in this case I would have to say this is a perfect book.

Ho trovato questa breve lettura parecchio interessante. Un libro minuscolo con sole 94 pagine che mi hanno fatto scoprire tantissime cose di cui ero ancora all’oscuro sia su J. K Rowling sia su come sia nata l’idea della saga che tanto amiamo.
È molto datato devo dire, risale al 2000 infatti erano stati pubblicato solamente i primi 4 libri della saga ancora e a chiusura del libro è stato scritto che la Rowling stava scrivendo il 5 romanzo della saga.
Oltre a contenere un’intervista della scrittrice contiene anche tante altre cose interessanti che riguardano la promozione dei vari romanzi, la stampa sia in italia che nel mondo, diverse recensioni scritte dai giornali italiani e tante altre cose.
Credo che questo libro sia una piccola chicca che a mio parere tutti i fans di Harry Potter dovrebbero possedere nella propria libreria.
Adesso non voglio fate spoiler quindi chiedo solamente: ma voi sapete chi ha ispirato alla Rowling il personaggio di Ron Wisley? Bene! Io l’ho appena scoperto! Questo libro è pieno pieno di aneddoti alquanto interessanti quindi credo che si meriti un posto d’onore accanto agli altri libri della saga.
Si merita tutte le 5 stelline ed io ve lo consiglio vivamente. Inoltre sta scritto che è l’unico libro autorizzato dalla Rowling quindi io credo che non ci sia motivo per non acquistarlo e leggerlo!!

This biography was meant to be read as if you were having a conversation with J.K. Rowling. Instead, it felt more like a very brief introduction to her. I was interested in finding more about the author that created Harry Potter, but I was disappointed when I didn't learn much more about her than what I already knew. There were very few facts that weren't already very well known about her. There was a total of 96 pages in this book, and the majority of it was a quick overview of the Harry Potter series. The few pages that were dedicated to her acutal life were somewhat interesting.

I would recommend this book for second-fourth grades. It is brief and it has large print which makes it appropriate for these grade levels. This book works if you are in need of some quick information about this author, but it doesn't have a whole lot of information on J.K. Rowling.

Este pequeño librito contiene una entrevista que le hizo Lindsay a J. K. Rowling. Es algo que se lee en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, no sólo por el hecho de que es corto, si no también porque es más bien de una carácter infantil/juvenil.

Para un fanático de Harry Potter este librito no aporta nada nuevo, ni antes lo hizo ni ahora. Quizás si está bueno para los peques que arrancaron con HP, les dan un vistazo a lo que es la autora. Al ser destinado para un público joven se omiten y disfrazan varios aspectos oscuros en la historia de la escritora.

Otra cosa que cabe mencionar es que si no han leído los libros de Harry Potter y planean hacerlo, no deberían leer este librito hasta no haber leído los 3 primeros ya que contiene varios spoilers de los mismos.

Lo repito, de un carácter infantil, explora la historia de Rowling con algunas anécdotas de su niñez, de su vida adolescente y como adulta. De sus estudios, y lo más obvio sus libros, inspiraciones y procesos.

En fin no hay mucho más que agregar.

As a kid who didn't have much access to media and couldn't wait for the fifth Harry Potter book to come out, this short interview with  J.K. Rowling was a fun, informative read back in 2001. It's out of date now and the details provided by  Lindsey Fraser certainly won't surprise any die-hard fans of the series, but for anyone looking for a quick, fun read about J.K. Rowling can't go wrong with this.

J.K. Rowling menceritakan perjalanan hidupnya sebelum dan setelah menjadi penulis terkenal. Beliau mengungkapkan bagaimana ide untuk Harry Potter muncul saat dia sedang menunggu kereta yang terlambat, serta proses panjang yang dilaluinya sebelum berhasil menerbitkan buku pertamanya.

A bit disappointed. I really expected to learn more about my favorite author. But nothing new here. Though it was nice getting some answers directly from JK, I kind of knew the answers to most questions already. Simply put, if you're a big HP fan like I am, you won't find much in this book that you didn't know already. If you're fairly new at this, I think this is a nice way to introduce the series and the spirit of the series. For muggles only ;)))

My daughter and I have been reading this a a bit at a time for a while. It's a really good and throughly biography of JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books. Well written, child friendly to match the age of her readers and fun!
