Though it's become quite a "scene" thing to read, or to not read, it's beautifully written and original. I cannot wait for the last installment.

Harry Potter is regarderd as one of the best and most influential pieces of fiction ever to be written. I have no choice but to agree. This series sparked my love for reading and fantasy, which I am every grateful for. A review of content and themes is completely unnecessary, as virtually the entire population of the United States of America is knowledgeable of that content. However, I will say one thing: if you do not read Harry Potter in your lifetime, then you have failed as a reader. I recommend this series to everyone.

Great books! Following Harry Potter and his friends adventures through school and into battle with the dark Lord, Voldermort! The stories from book to book get a little more darker at each book, but are very good!

The world of Harry Potter is filled with things that just don't add up, at some point this floating pile just starts degrading the creative merits and prevents any further enhancement of the reader's world perception.

I'm not talking about credibility, obviously, but the painfully failing synergy between the fantastic elements. The force that keeps together the discworld or the forgotten realms... is simply absent here. It's apparent that the base premises struggle to support the scale to which this story has grown. And THEN come the legion of fans who step up and try to fix this profoundly feable work. Pathetic.

I enjoyed the book for its worth but this "phenomenon" drives me up the wall. I only hope these people's new-found enthusiasm for the genre spills quickly from this shallow cup into goblets of truer fire.

Nice books for kids and adults who are still kids at heart.

I bought this HP book collection for my girlfriend’s birthday, and she loved it! Major kudos to the seller, Used books @ great prices, for being so thoughtful and kind. The seller included a lovely note in a card and even provided some HP-themed candy and goodies, which I didn’t expect when I opened the package. I will not hesitate to purchase again from the seller. I was so excited to receive this box set!  I was surprised to receive Book 7 (since it's only listed as Books 1-6).  However, I guess the price of receiving Book 7 is that Book 1 is paperback.  That was a little disappointing since it was advertised as all hardback but I won't drone too much over it since I also receieved Book 7.

This is a 6 v boxed set of the original edition of Harry Potter. v7 is separate.  It is a pleasure to have the complete set to read.  I had to read them as they came out, and missed several.  Now I can go back and read the whole thing. Note: this is the original edition. New edition has different illustrations.

Amazon shipped this set lightning quick and safely packed, and of course brand new. I'm not sure why anyone would choose to buy from other sellers on the list; Amazon always has the best price for brand new items!  I also pre-ordered the 7th book at the same time.  People here who complain about the publishers compiling & selling a six book boxed set when there is a seventh book out soon don't understand the fact that a lot of us don't mind buying the boxed set of the first six books. We didn't have any of the HP books until I bought this set. I'm happy I didn't have to purchase them all seperately. I get to read these hard cover books to my children, children not child, which means I'll be buying more sets for sure. Each will want to have their own collection, of course.  And the people who say it's pricey?!?!  I have to disagree. $16.65 approximately is not expensive for a hard cover book of this nature. And you will own it & reread it time & again. My almost 5 yr & 3yr old love the movies & even better, they sit quitely to listen to me read the HP books to them. My 9 month old will too enjoy the stories as he is introduced to them over & over by his sisters no doubt.  Also watching the movies convinced me to buy the books because the movies tend to jump around & not explain why something occurred. I'm glad I was able to purchase this set so I can play catch up before book 7 arrives! We all want to "find out" what happens[individually] without others giving the finale away.

Bought the books, bought them NEW. but as one book kept coming in, the binding was bad, the spine was weakened, and ththe covers had creases. As if they were used or badly storaged.
