I have read this series so many times I love it. It changed my life as a reader and opened my eyes to a whole new world. I can't thank the author enough. Hands down my favorite character is Sirius Black followed closely Severus Snape.

I remember reading this in 2016. I was in middle school by then and it was during summer vacations, I would stay up late wanting to finish the book and soon watch the movie afterwards. To this day, I am absolutely so proud of myself for picking this book off the shelf.

Thank you to J.K Rowling for introducing me to the world of books and fiction.

My children would only let me read two book series to them when they were little: Narnia and Potter. And now I continue to read them for my own pleasure. Ms Rowling gave us a wonderful world of characters to love and hate and even to laugh and cry with. She set the whole world to reading - what could be more magical than that? How real are her characters? Every single school friend I rediscover who had one certain 3rd grade teacher from our grade school as 'Umbridge.' And the 4th grade teacher most of had we refer to as 'McConnegal.' We all made these determinations on our own.

Growing up I loved this book. then I grew up and learned about how this book is full of every possible prejudice I can learn about. It's just not a good series and I won't encourage my future children to read it.

Harry Potter is one of the most magical worlds you can read about. If you asked my, think of the most magical place ever, my immediate answer would have to be the Harry Potter universe. It’s also the book that always pulls me out of a reading slump. If I’m tired of reading, I just need to pull a Harry Potter book out. Now, I am a reader, and I read a lot about magic in my books, Harry Potter is yet to be beaten. This may only be books 1-6 but I’m talking number 7 here too. I feel like I’ve been teleported into the amazing universe of magic. These books really outline the fact that nobody’s perfect, in my opinion. They are also not just kids books! I cannot stress that enough! You have one perspective on the story as a kid but, as you grow up, that perspective changes. It’s just the most beautiful world ever created. If you’re still putting off reading this book, I don’t like you! Well, unless you have a valid reason. Please read these books. They are a masterpiece!

I have read and re-read the Harry Potter series more times than I can remember. The fun increased when I listened to the Audiobook read by Stephen Fry... that was something else entirely. Just epic.

I read the whole series, one after the other, this past August and September. Loved it. I know I am late to the game on this, but better late than never, right? The books make the movies seem sad in comparison. What a loving eye for detail and imagination JK Rowling has.

I do not own this spiffy box set of Harry Potter books, but no way was I going to sit down and input all 6 of them!! When we were in the UK on our honeymoon in the spring of 2000, Harry Potter fever was just hitting its stride there. Not long after that the books found their way to Canada and I fell in love with this series right from the first book. Again (I'm a broken record) great characters and time-old literary themes, as well as just being a very enjoyable read. I haven't gone to see the movies, because I don't want the characters in my mind replaced with British teen actors and Gary Oldman. (can't stand Gary Oldman.)

Fantastic read for any age. Some of my all-time favourite literary characters are from this series, like Dumbledore and Sirius Black. The books get heavier (literally and metaphorically) as the series progresses. The first book is the most child-like, shorter and lighter fare. The last book is downright philosophical and practically qualifies as a doorstop it's so weighty. The HP series is kind of like literary comfort food around here, if there's nothing else to read we'll just grab one and dive in. A definite must-read!
