I always like it when kids' nonfiction teaches me something. Great water cycle book for kids.

This book has a lot of fun facts about the rain. It has bright pictures that make the reader want to see what's going on. I would definitely use this book to teach about rain and water cycles.

Another very simple science book on rain. I do see a plus to this series (Amazing Science) as opposed to the other series: they have further research possibilities listed at the book of the book, as well as a glossary.

Interestingly, by the cover, this book looks like it should be an easy non-fiction, but the content may be too complicated for young children.

This looks like a storybook, but it's actually non-fiction. It has simple explanations of the water cycle and definitions of terms like "drought" and "rain forest." As I read it to my little one I thought, "Aw, baby's first science book." It's not the most fascinating thing to read as a bedtime story, but it could be good in a classroom setting.

I'm surprised at all the 3 star reviews. This is a great book that I plan to use in my K-2 Homeschool Co-op weather class. Having just taught on the water cycle, this books builds perfectly using the water cycle to explain rain: how it forms, what geographic areas receive more rain, why we need rain, dangers of rain. It includes an experiment for children to see the water cycle as well as a glossary.
