Its a very interesting book, its deep but if you believe in a god and in angels and you also believe they can be manifested in many ways not only “at church” then you are going to like it and mostly because its a true story from the author itself. I enjoyed it a lot.

Mah, mi lascia alquanto perplessa. Continuo a non capire il motivo del successo di questo autore, vive di rendita a quanto pare con l'unico libro accettabile che ha pubblicato l'alchimista (che non ho letto, ma che prometto di farlo vista la sua fama).
Anche questo un libro da dimenticare, come Il vincitore è solo.

کتابی از جنس کیمیاگر و کوه پنجم،ولی با یک پیام جدید.
اینکه نشونه هایی توی دنیا هست که به ما این پیام رو میده که دنیا فقط چیزی که میبینیم نیست.و فرشته ها وجود دارن. و باید اونارو پیدا کنیم. و اینکه ما همیشه چیزهایی که دوست داریم رو نابود میکنیم.و باید افق هامون رو گسترش بدیم.
اینکه روی ذهن ثانویه هم تاکید کرد که باید هر روز روش کار کنیم تا وقتی که افکارش خسته بشه و بره جالب بود.
نحوه ی روایت داستان کمی کسل کننده بود( نسبت به کتاب های دیگه ی پائولو) به همین دلیل ۴ ستاره دادم

En un principio senti que la lectura no era muy comprometedora. Sin embargo, a medida que iba avanzando y al terminar me dí cuenta de que el mensaje nunca fue la historia en si, sino la interpretación personal del mensaje. Es un mensaje muy sutil y de tiempo para digerir.
El libro en general, estuvo bien.

The book has a lot of details from Coelho's personal life - his marriage, his relationships with others, the magical Tradition he belongs to and the kind of person he is.

"The Valkyries" is about a dream but an unusual one. It demands a long journey and untypical rituals, a journey to the driest desert in North America Mojave desert with a virtuous ambition : to speak to his Angel. It's a strange wish that takes risks achieving it.

The novel is a representation of wishes, dreams and the power of women. Women in all fields of life have a tendency to do important things and to help a bigger cause.

This novel is the third book I read for Paulo Coelho after "Adultry" and "The Zahir" but I can't say it is a masterpiece like them. However I put 3 stars for it for only Paulo's bravery. He exposed his weakness and his private life and this is not easy for any human being.

Why we tend to destroy everyting that we love? How to get rid of the voice that keeps us to conquer mountains? It was easy reading, but also little interesting journey. It brought my attention back to some core problems that should be handled every once in a while.

Ehmm…. Vet inte ens vad jag ska säga om denna bok. Att detta enligt författaren ska vara en biografi, känns mer som jag läste om en sekt? Kan heller inte begripa hur han beter sig mot sin egen fru?!

Devo ter comprado este livro depois de ter lido O Diário de Um Mago, do mesmo autor, há cerca de 25 anos. Recentemente, e após perceber qual era o tema, decidi "libertá-lo" sem o ler, mas acabei por não resistir e experimentei ler alguns capítulos.

A narrativa revestiu-se de um maior interesse, para mim, depois de ler a Nota do Autor e perceber que este é um relato de acontecimentos que aparentemente foram vividos por Paulo Coelho e pela sua mulher. No entanto, isso não chegou para o ler até ao fim.

Até à página 140 consegui manter-me minimamente interessada na história, contada através duma escrita muito básica mas eficaz. A partir daí comecei a aborrecer-me com tanta parvoíce e finalmente, depois do capítulo que termina na página 179 e que me desagradou particularmente, decidi dar por encerrada a experiência.

Acredito que este relato possa fazer sentido para algumas pessoas e algumas passagens até fizeram algum sentido para mim, daí o benefício das 2 estrelinhas...

I must have bought this book after I read The Pilgrimage, by the same author, some 25 years ago. Recently, upon realizing what the subject really was, I decided to "realease" it without reading it, but I gave in and I tried reading some chapters.

I took more interest in the story after reading the Author's Note and realizing that this is an account of events apparently experienced by Paulo Coelho and his wife. However, that wasn't enough to make me read all of it.

Until page 140 I managed to keep myself slightly interested in the story, told by way of a very primary, yet effective, writing. From there on I started to get annoyed with so much nonsense and, at last, after a chapter which I rather disliked, I decided to end this experiment.

I believe that this narrative might make sense to some people and a few passages even made some sense to me, hence the 2 star rating...

In "The Valkyries" i found a different Coelho, one I didn't like. The message of the book appears to be clear and beautiful, but underneath it all the waters are muddy. I found it really challenging to read; had I not been spending so much time in the airport these days, I might not have finished it at all. Maybe I am just a very conservative christian, but it appears to be clearly stated in the Bible, which Coelho quotes so much, that witchcraft is wrong. It was hard for me to understand how Christianity goes together with esoteric stuff. As my friend stated it, "it is full of New Age crap".
Of course, it might be a completely different experience for others, but I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

Un percorso di vita e di amore da seguire

I usually love Paulo’s books but I couldn’t bring myself to connect with this one. I couldn’t develop a relationship with anyone in the book. Some parts moved slowly whilst the others lacked crucial details. I read this genre because I enjoy expanding my horizons, but this one didn’t give me an opportunity to look within myself. I feel disappointed.
