It took me a whole week to finish reading this truly awesome book, and let me tell you, it was an absolute adventure. This book is fact-filled and loaded with an abundance of information. It's not just about magick; it also涵盖了science, history, and mathematics. After all, magick is indeed a science that involves formulating hypotheses, conducting experiments, and recording your observations.
For anyone who is just starting out with magick, this book is one that I would definitely call perfect. It provides you with an overview of a wide variety of magical systems, including Ceremonial magick, Wicca, Celtic, alchemy, and more. I think you can get the idea. The book makes a point of distinguishing magick from religion. It focuses on technique and practice. Although the author may have written the book with teenagers in mind, I find that it is an excellent guide for adults as well.
Oberon Zell writes the instructions in a very easy-to-follow manner. For the first time, I now know how to consecrate my magical tools and even have clear instructions on how to engrave them. It's truly awesome. For the first time, I also know how to plan and perform a ritual, whether it's solitary or for a group. Oberon provides a very understandable outline along with concise explanations of what you are supposed to do to carry out each step. The sigil-making part was great. Any beginner in magic can read that section and know exactly what they are supposed to do. If there is such a thing as magic, then this book will show you how to do it.
The book is filled with tables and comparisons of different mythologies, times, correspondences, and Gods. These tables are invaluable when it comes to doing your magick. I look forward to reading the author's follow-up. Normally, I would write a summary of the book I read, but the information in this book is just too exhaustive. I will refer to this book again and again as I progress along the path of magical growth.
Not only is Oberon Zell Ravenheart a great author, but his book also has contributions from such magical greats as Raymond Buckland, Donald Michael Kraig, Telesco, and Raven Grimassi. This book goes beyond any Wicca 101 book published by Llewelyn.
I give it a four-star rating because, despite the excellent content, the publisher left out the appendices, index, and bibliography. They were supposed to be there, and the table of contents has them listed. I contacted the author, and he said he would contact the publisher. I'm waiting to hear back from the publishers.
Utter garbage. This is what I thought when I acquired it. I had high hopes of finding some useful ideas or sources to incorporate into my writing. However, what I got was basically a badly written hodgepodge. It seems to be specifically designed to appeal to the Harry Potter LARP'ing crowd. The content is disorganized and lacks any real substance. There are no coherent arguments or well-developed concepts. It's just a jumble of random thoughts and references that don't seem to go anywhere. I'm extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted my time. I would not recommend this to anyone looking for legitimate inspiration or information for their writing.
This is an amazing product that is specifically designed for teens. It has many features and functions that are highly appealing to this age group. What makes it even better is that it is extremely simple to use. Teens don't have to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to operate it. Whether it's for entertainment, learning, or communication, this product can meet their needs. It's user-friendly interface and intuitive controls make it accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical skills. So, if you're a teen looking for a great product that is both fun and easy to use, this is definitely the one for you.
