I originally read this for my apprentices and I was truly amazed to find myself completely hooked!

Oberon Zell-Ravenheart is like a modern-day Merlin. However, I must admit that I found some of his perspectives to be outright false. For example, when he described "The Big Bang" as a "creationist theory" and believed that it postulated the universe came from one giant explosion, I couldn't help but cringe. But then again, it's forgivable as a pen can easily cross out that silly little excerpt. =)

Putting aside that and some of the 2012 b.s., this book is truly a phenomenon. It is a PHENOMENAL book that excels in its coverage of Magik. It is filled to the brim with various projects and practices. There are great exercises for just about every aspect of Magik. And we all know that in the world of Magik, exercises are far more important than philosophies. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in Magik.

Silly

Until he came to the land, the neighbors were always at peace with no wars because we had forgotten the reason we left. There were no elders to teach the younger generations, and hate came in, dividing the caciques. Stories are being told without truth, and lives could be saved. Lies make it not perfect for me because magic is not written, and magic is not taught. We are the magic, each and every one of us. What we do with our magic is our choice. Magic is when you are able to whisper to the wind when you are in trouble, whisper to the sun when you are cold, and whisper to the wind when there is dryness. Magic is not to invade the mind, and science is not supposed to be used for the destruction of the world. Magic is about Love.

It would be wonderful to have a more in-depth grimoire that delves deeper into the various aspects of wizardry. Nevertheless, this book still has its own unique charms.

I must admit that I cannot fully agree with the opinion regarding Satanism that is mentioned towards the back of the book. However, I do understand the reasoning behind why it had to be included.

The charts and tables provided in the book are extremely useful and I often refer to them as a valuable resource. Overall, despite its few shortcomings, this book is still a great addition to any wizardry enthusiast's collection.
