The overall experience was uneven, yet it held enough promise to encourage us to continue. The first third of the story was truly wonderful, captivating our attention and drawing us in. However, as the story progressed towards the climax, it unfortunately became rather forgettable.

Despite this drawback, the journey was still enjoyable, especially since I was engaged in a buddy read with my dear friend Svetlana. Sharing our thoughts and impressions as we went along added an extra layer of depth to the experience.

We discussed the characters, their motives, and the various plot twists. Svetlana had some interesting insights that I might not have considered on my own, and vice versa.

Although the climax may not have lived up to our expectations, we are still looking forward to seeing how the story concludes. There are still many unanswered questions and loose ends that we hope will be tied up in a satisfying way.

Overall, while the book has its flaws, it has also managed to keep us engaged and interested. We will continue to read and see where the author takes us.

A book that exudes classic fantasy vibes is truly a gem. It takes its sweet time to build the story, carefully crafting wonderful characters and intricate relationships. You get completely immersed in this world, only to be abruptly jolted when it ends, realizing that you've only read half the book. ★★★★

After reading The Belgariad, this particular book comes close in terms of its cozy classic fantasy atmosphere. What sets it apart is its better focus on the world's magic. The magic system is detailed and fascinating, adding an extra layer of depth to the story. I find myself having a special affinity for the fantasies of the 80s. There's something about them that just clicks with me more than most modern ones. Maybe it's the simplicity or the charm that they possess. Whatever it is, I can't get enough of these classic fantasies.

Pug as a character is truly one of my absolute favorites!!

This is my second time reading this trilogy of four books (oh, those publishers!).

What I love about it is that it combines elements of both fantasy and science fiction.

The first book mainly sets up the story, but all the really good stuff lies within "Magician: Master".

One great aspect of this book is that there are a lot of different races from both sides eventually.

Either way, it remains one of my top favorites.

I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a captivating blend of fantasy and science fiction, with a diverse cast of characters and an engaging storyline.

It's a must-read for fans of the genre!
