A good story about being yourself and how in doing so you can find true happiness. Suki is a young girl who, on the first day of first grade, wears a beautiful kimono that her grandmother bought for her over the summer. At first, her classmates and even her sisters make fun of her outfit. They don't understand the significance or the beauty of the kimono.
However, Suki is not deterred. When it's her turn to stand in the front of the class and describe her summer, she does so with confidence. She shows the class how the dancers at a festival danced in the kimono, gracefully moving and twirling. As the class watches, their attitude begins to change. They start to see the kimono not as something strange or silly, but as a beautiful and unique piece of clothing.
By being true to herself and sharing her own experiences, Suki has earned the respect of her classmates. She has shown them that it's okay to be different and that sometimes, the things that make us unique are the very things that others will come to appreciate. In the end, Suki finds true happiness in being able to express herself and be accepted for who she is.
