I really enjoyed this book. Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business is about Junie's little brother. Her two best friends are Grace and Lucille and they really want to see Junie's brother, but Junie doesn't want them to. They are giving Junie everything they own just so they can see him. Now, Junie wants to take her little brother into school for pet day. Lucille and Grace are very excited.

The main characters in this book are Lucille, Grace, Junie, and Junie's little brother. Lucille is very spoiled and rude. She gets whatever she wants. Grace is very nosy, but respectful. She cared about Junie a lot and is a good friend to her. Junie is loud and obnoxious. Junie's little brother cries a lot.

I would recommend this book to any children from the ages of 6-10. I think it is too easy of a read for anyone over the age of 10. This book is gender neutral. I think both genders would really enjoy it. I rate this book 5 stars out of 5.

Junie B Jones is not happy in this book because her mom is going to have a baby. She i so worried that she will be left out. Her grandma says that he is the cutest little monkey She does not understand why her friends are so excited to see the baby. Her friends are offering to give her their favorite stuff. She wants all new things because the baby is getting new stuff. In the end she ends up loving the baby. I think this is a good book for kids, so that they can realize getting a new sibling is a great thing. This can help them realize how ridiculous Junie was being and they will want to act more mature to impress their parents.

Junie B. Jones is a classic funny character. She is very sassy and can sometimes have a bad attitude and manners which could be a bad influence for some kids. It also uses child-like language which is improper English, so that can give kids misconceptions of proper grammar. It's also funny in the way that it addresses children's misconceptions from the point of view of a kid. When Junie hears the baby called a "little monkey" she thinks it's really a monkey.

Junie B. Jones is a very rambunctious five year old. In this story her parents surprise her with the news of a new baby. Junie B. doesn't take the news well. She decides that she's going to be the boss of the baby because she's older and she should be in charge. Once the baby is born Junie B.'s grandmother makes the mistake of telling Junie B. that her new baby brother is the "cutest little monkey" which she takes literally. She was convinced that her new brother was a monkey, and she declared this at school during show and tell. Later at recess Junie's friends tried to bribe her with presents so they could be the first ones to see her monkey brother. Eventually this landed Junie in the principal's office where he called her grandmother and clarified that her brother is a real baby but he's just cute.

The quality of plot was okay. I didn't think it was that interesting but to children it might be. I think children would definitely be able to relate to this story so in that way the plot is very appropriate.

I'd say the age range is primary to intermediate. I think advanced 5-8 years would be able to read this and definitely intermediate. The words are few syllables which makes for an easy read but there are chapters which adds a challenge.

Just like most chapter books this one had few pictures. There were some but they were scattered throughout the story. They were simple black and white pictures that realistically showed what part of the book was occurring at that moment. They were also very realistic.

I'd recommend this book to children that are going to become big brothers or sisters. I think it's a really great way for them to get used to the idea of having a new baby and maybe even help them adjust to the new change.

Personal Response:
I give this book a three out of five stars. I like these Junie B. Jones books but this one was probably the least favorite out of all of them that I have read. I think I would have liked it better if there was more of a variety of things that happened throughout the book.

Plot:
Junie's mom is pregnant with a little boy and she cannot wait for him to come. Junie's mom goes into labor, and Junie has to go sleep over at her grandma's house after school. When Junie asks about her brother her grandma says he's as cute as a monkey. Junie takes this literally and she thinks that she has a actual monkey as a brother. The next day at school, Junie tells all of her friends that her little brother is a monkey and now she's even more excited to meet him. Junie's mom and her brother finally come home and Junie realizes that her brother is not actually a monkey and she is heartbroken, but still thinks he is cute.

Characterization:
The main character in this book is a kindergarten girl whose name is Junie B. Jones. Junie is a very energetic kid that cannot take no for an answer. Throughout the book Junie is very energetic but in the end she is sad because she doesn't have a monkey as a brother. Junie's mom is another character in this book who is stressed out because of her pregnancy. Junie's grandma is who ends up taking care of Junie when her mom goes into labor.

Setting:
This book takes place in Junie's town and at her grandma's house. This book takes place in modern times since her mom goes to the hospital to have her baby and Junie rides the bus to school.

Recommendation:
I would recommend this book to anyone in first through fifth grade. I think that those ages are good because this book is the reading level of those grades. I would also recommend this to girls more than boys because it's told from the point of view of a girl and I think girls would relate to that more.

Junie B. is a very anxious 5 year old. She is in kindergarten and her parents had a baby boy. She was very excited about having a baby brother. One day, she was with her grandma and her grandma told her that her bother was "the cutest little monkey". Just like any other 5 year old would do, Junie believed her. She went to school and told all of her friends that her brother was a monkey. Her friends then started giving her presents and bribing her so they would be the first one to see her brother that is said to be a monkey. Eventually Junie B. was sent to the principal's office. He had to call Junie's grandmother so she could clarify that Junie's brother was a baby but he was just cute.

Junie B. Jones is a 5 year old girl in kindergarten. She was happy to be getting a new brother. Toward the end of the book she was not as excited, because she found out her baby brother wasn't a monkey. She is very gullible just like any other little kid.

I recommend this book, or any Junie B. Jones books, for grades 3-5. These ages would like it the most because, they Junie B. is younger like them. They can relate to the same thing Junie B. went through. Although, any age could read it. If you need a good laugh, you have to read a Junie B. book.
