Cute!

"How beautiful!" she exclaimed. "When I was young, there weren't any cats with wings. At least I don't recall any. But as time passes, things keep changing. And this seems like a really good idea. However, if I were a bird, perhaps I wouldn't think the same way. And I suspect it might be prudent not to mention you to people. They would just say, 'Oh, Sarah is so old, she's become silly. Now she's imagining cats with wings!' It's not easy being different, is it?"

The final edition of the Catwings quartet

presented yet another super-quick read. It was charming in many ways, with its engaging story and endearing characters. However, it also had a slightly annoying aspect. As the story progressed, Jane discovered that everything everyone had told her about humans was indeed true.

This revelation wasn't terribly shocking, but it did add a layer of predictability to the narrative. Despite this, the overall charm of the book managed to shine through. The vivid descriptions of the catwings' adventures and their interactions with the human world kept the reader hooked from start to finish.

Overall, while the final edition of the Catwings quartet may not have been the most groundbreaking or unexpected, it was still an enjoyable read that will surely delight fans of the series.

This is a truly nice ending to the wonderful Catwings series.

Every single book in this series has been an absolute huge hit with my kids. They have been completely engrossed in the adventures and stories of the little catwings.

The characters are so endearing and the plots are full of excitement and charm. It's been a joy to see my children's faces light up as they read each page.

This final installment ties up all the loose ends beautifully and leaves us with a sense of satisfaction and a bit of sadness that the series has come to an end. But it will always hold a special place in our hearts as a beloved collection of stories that we will cherish for years to come.

So, if your kids have a passion for cats, then by all means, yes, 100%, go ahead and purchase this series.

If you can manage to find them all in a bundle, that would be even better. However, they shouldn't be overly difficult to locate on their own, whether it's online or at local used bookstores. These books were quite popular during the 80s and 90s and they remain in print to this very day.

Nevertheless, they aren't always the most intellectually challenging books. As a result, they tend to leave homes fairly quickly as kids constantly need more shelf space for new reads.

They make great picks for those who have breezed through all the "early" chapter books and are seeking a bit more of a challenge. The words used are sometimes rather difficult, such as "fledglings," "remarkable," and "disapproving." So, there will indeed be some level of difficulty, but the stories themselves are so charming that your cat-loving child won't mind.

Nearly every page showcases a full-color illustration of the cats and their exciting adventures. Although some dramatic events occur to the cats, including a few injuries, there's never anything truly disturbing in the images. It can be a bit hard to distinguish the four original catwings from one another since they're all tabbies, but that never really seems to be a major issue.

Jane, the youngest of the catwings, discovers that her mother's concerns for her special children are completely justified. Initially enticed into a man's home by his kindness, she is soon captured and put on display. She must figure out a way to escape before the entire world becomes aware of the catwings and starts searching for her siblings. This is the weakest of the four books, and one that I would anticipate most kids skipping on subsequent readings of the series. However, it's still a good read for the first time.

In 2019, I read a book from the "Winged Cats Fairy Tale Series".

This series of books is really wonderful. The stories are full of imagination and creativity, taking readers into a magical world of winged cats.

The characters in the book are vivid and interesting, and their adventures and growth processes are very touching.

Each story also contains some positive values, such as friendship, courage, and perseverance.

I highly recommend this series of books to all readers, especially those who love fairy tales and adventures.

It will definitely bring you a lot of joy and inspiration.

We read the first chapter ages ago.

It seems like a long time has passed since then.

And then, we finally decided to finish the rest all at once.

It was a bit of a rush, but also quite exciting.

Ben, who loves cats very much, really enjoys these books.

They are a great choice for him.

These books are of medium length, which makes them perfect for a read-aloud session.

There are just enough pictures in them to make the story more engaging and interesting.

Ben always listens attentively when we read these books to him.

He gets lost in the world of cats and their adventures.

It's a wonderful experience for both of us.

We look forward to reading more of these books together in the future.

This is the best of the 3 catwings books I’ve read.

Our local library doesn’t have Catwings Returns, unfortunately.

This particular book belongs to the genre of science fiction, specifically targeted at younger readers.

What sets it apart from the earlier ones is that it explicitly delves into the difficulty of “being different.”

The story explores the challenges that the characters face due to their unique characteristics.

It presents a relatable theme that many young readers can identify with.

By addressing this issue head-on, the book offers valuable lessons and insights.

It shows that being different can be both a source of strength and a cause for struggle.

The author does a great job of bringing this theme to life through engaging characters and an exciting plot.

Overall, it is a wonderful read that combines entertainment with meaningful messaging.

A fitting conclusion to the Catwings saga. It was truly a remarkable end to this enchanting story. Jane, who was my daughter's absolute favorite, held a special place in her heart. My daughter greatly enjoyed having a book that featured her beloved kitty. She would spend hours poring over the pages, imagining herself in the world of the Catwings. The illustrations were so vivid and detailed that they brought the story to life. With each turn of the page, she was drawn deeper into the adventure. It was a joy to see her so engaged and excited. The Catwings saga had become a part of our lives, and this conclusion was both satisfying and bittersweet. We will surely miss following the adventures of Jane and her feline friends, but we will always cherish the memories this book has given us.

I have a deep affection for Jane. Among all the catwings, she truly stands out to me, not only in terms of her appearance but also her personality. The illustration of the tabbies' fur is indeed impressive, yet the sight of the dark void of Jane's fur with her bright eyes in the middle always creates a fascinating contrast.

Ideologically, this installment can be a bit challenging. I appreciate the theme of freedom and treating cats with respect rather than infantilizing them. However, I also understand the risks of allowing cats to roam freely, especially in areas where they can be killed by cars or decimate local animal populations. Having a barn cat to reduce the number of rats is one thing, but letting a house cat slaughter birds for sport is quite another.

At any rate, I understand the moral that Le Guin was trying to convey. Jane is adventurous and needs to spread her (literal) wings. So, for the sake of her narrative, it makes sense that she should always have a window open to come and go as she pleases. I also like how she finds a home away from the other catwings but still makes time to visit her family and friends. It truly demonstrates how one can follow their heart and travel far while still remaining close to the people they love.

This is a charming series, and although the second installment remains my favorite, "Jane on Her Own" is not bad at all.

I am really worried that my nephew, who is only three years old, will find this particular thing upsetting. At his tender age, he is still very sensitive and impressionable.

Even the slightest change or something out of the ordinary can have a significant impact on his emotions.

I'm concerned that this might cause him to feel scared, confused, or even sad.

I want to do everything in my power to protect him from any unnecessary distress.

Maybe I should try to shield him from this situation or find a way to make it more understandable and less intimidating for him.

After all, his well-being and happiness are of utmost importance to me.
