Well, this is the end.

We've reached the final chapter of the Catwings adventures. This story centers on Jane, the youngest catwing. Thanks to her friend wonderful Alexander, she found her voice. While she loves her brothers and sisters and her quiet life in the country, Jane longs to see the world and really stretch her wings. So, she decides to fly back to the city where she was born and find adventures.

Unfortunately, it's not long before she's taken in by a man who, although kind to her, definitely sees the monetary potential in a cat with wings.

One of my favorite things about these books is how Le Guin subtly emphasizes the value of independence. She doesn't downplay the importance of family and love. Instead, I really love the message that you can have those things without losing your own identity. Loving your family doesn't have to mean sacrificing your own dreams and needs. Sometimes, there's an emphasis on the value of "togetherness" or "being part of a family," even if it means giving up things you might want for yourself.

The catwings love each other unreservedly. They're completely free and open with their affection, frequently telling each other "I love you" with a kind of joyful innocence that truly embraces love in its most basic form. They're all completely secure in those feelings, knowing that no matter where they go, they'll always be able to come back, and that love will be waiting for them.

This is a marvelous, gentle, sometimes exciting, and very heartfelt series. It's delightful to read aloud.

Jane, the black cat with wings, is truly bored. She desires more adventure in her life compared to what the other ordinary cats are seeking. Alexander has now grown up and has become a lazy cat. Jane makes up her mind to return to the city.

In the city, she gracefully flies through a man's open window. His excitement and joy upon seeing a cat with wings lead to a series of events such as TV shows, the creation of harnesses, the teaching of tricks, and the signing of contracts. However, soon enough, Jane gets bored once again. Despite the fact that the windows are always shut, she manages to slip out the door and follows the men down the stairs.

Eventually, Jane has the good fortune to find her mother again. She is then able to stay with her mother and the elderly lady who takes great pleasure in their company. Jane carves out a life for herself, which includes visits to the country, while also remaining with her mother in the city and having the freedom to play in the skies of the city.

I'm truly overjoyed that I managed to get my hands on these books!

This might just be the most tender story thus far. Within its pages, a recurring concept from Ursula's imagination comes to life: the idea that the true journey is a return.

Jane, the not-so-long-ago speechless cat, is dissatisfied with her overly comfortable life. She decides to leave her brothers and their farm to venture out and explore the world.

Even though the exploration itself isn't overly extensive, as she soon ends up in the city, the tale is exquisitely beautiful.

And it's not just about cats; it's about humans too - or rather, the unpredictable combination that occurs when a human and a cat meet.

This story has the power to touch our hearts and make us reflect on our own journeys and the unexpected encounters that shape our lives.

I carefully compared the text of this new edition with the audiobook that was read by the author himself. To my surprise, I could find no changes at all. In fact, this book still has the supposedly forbidden word "stupid" on page 18. This leads me to believe that the caveat on the verso of the title page, which states "Minor changes have been made in the language in this edition to reflect evolution in meaning and common usage," is incorrect. This inaccuracy bothers me a little. A warning that turns out to be nothing can make one become complacent about warnings in general, just like the boy who cried, "Wolf!"

The four forbidden words that were supposed to have been excised from the new editions are: dumb, lame, queer, and stupid.

As for the actual content of the book, I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed with this story. When compared to the earlier books in the series, it seemed to lack that spark of inspiration. It's an okay read, but it's not essential by any means. There are other books out there that are much more engaging and thought-provoking.

I read this book several years ago. It was a book that had left a certain impression on me at that time. Recently, I thought of it again and decided to pull it out for my nine-year-old son. I was hoping that he would also find it interesting and perhaps it would spark his interest in reading more.

To my delight, he did like the book. He seemed to be engaged in the story and the characters. However, I am not entirely certain if it has convinced him to read more from this series. Maybe he just enjoyed this particular book and that's it.

On one hand, I am glad that he liked it and had a positive reading experience. But on the other hand, I do hope that it could have a more lasting impact on his reading habits and encourage him to explore more books within the same series or even other books in general. Only time will tell if this will be the case.

I liked the previous volumes more than this one here, but still, I loved it!

It was a very fair ending for my kids, but I confess that I wanted more of them!

I really enjoyed following the winged kittens and I hope to read it to all the children of the planet!!!!!

This story has captured my heart with its charming characters and engaging plot. The winged kittens brought a sense of magic and wonder that is sure to delight young readers. Although I had a preference for the earlier volumes, this one still managed to deliver a satisfying conclusion.

I can't wait to share this book with every child I know and introduce them to the enchanting world of the winged kittens. It's a story that will surely leave a lasting impression and spark the imagination of all who read it.

Ursula K. Le Guin is a renowned author, and I have read her science fiction stories and truly enjoyed them. In this particular book, there are 4 stories about the Catwings. These are cats that have wings and thus the ability to fly.

The four little cats live in the city with their mother, Jane Tabby. When they start to do more than just practice flights, they realize the need to move away from humans to avoid being hunted. So, the four siblings embark on an adventure.

I really liked the way the cats interacted with each other and with their mother. How the cat family always sought the best for everyone and supported each other through all the problems that came their way.

As for the humans, fortunately, they meet a couple of children who recognize the importance of keeping the peculiarity of their friends a secret and take care of them, protect them, feed them, and play with them.

These are fun and exciting stories that will be even more enjoyed by the lovers of cats. They offer a unique perspective on the relationship between animals and humans, as well as the importance of family and friendship.

Jane learns a lesson in practice that her older siblings learned from their mother.

In this last book of the series, the adventures come to an end. We understand that some cats like certain things, while other cats like different things, and that one's sense of identity is independent of one's family. It is possible to love and be loved, even when far away.

I really enjoyed reading this series. Ursula is an excellent writer, and the small details that carry over from one story to another give a very special touch.

The fact that Jane goes back to the site to talk to Alexander, considering it was Alexander who helped her speak, is really cute.

This series not only tells interesting stories about cats but also explores deeper themes such as family, identity, and love. It makes readers think and feel.

The characters are well-developed, and their personalities and relationships add depth to the stories.

Overall, it is a great series that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves reading about animals and their adventures.
