I found this to be quite an interesting volume within the series.

The artist/writer team did an outstanding job in really capturing the excitement of a real Go tournament. Their detailed illustrations and engaging narrative brought the intense atmosphere of the Go games to life.

I would have absolutely loved to have seen this volume adapted into the Anime series. The Tengen sequences, in particular, were so thrilling and full of tension. It would be amazing to see them animated, with all the strategic moves and intense emotions of the players on full display.

The potential for a visually stunning and highly engaging Anime adaptation of this volume is truly great. It would no doubt attract a large audience and further enhance the popularity of the Go series.

Overall, this volume is a must-read for fans of Go and those interested in exciting and well-crafted stories. I can't wait to see what else the artist/writer team has in store for us in future volumes.

The players are gearing up for the under 18 tournament.

They have been putting in a great deal of effort, training rigorously day in and day out. However, out of the blue, a youngster from a relatively unknown Go Club makes an appearance.

This kid plays an extraordinary game that catches everyone by surprise.

The moves he makes are not the typical ones that are usually seen in such tournaments. It adds an element of excitement and unpredictability to the whole event.

It's truly great stuff. Before this, who would have thought that Go could be this thrilling?

The spectators are on the edge of their seats, eagerly watching every move and wondering what will happen next.

The presence of this unexpected player has turned the tournament into something truly remarkable.

I will be the first to admit that this volume began in a slightly different way than I had anticipated.

Even at this late stage in the series, we are still being introduced to new players!

In order for both Hikaru and Akira to continue growing, they must take on mentors and masters and keep forging ahead.

This volume emphasizes this thought more strongly than many of the previous ones.

I must confess that the more Go games are completed within a volume, the more epic that volume sometimes seems.

As all the players strive to improve, this can only be achieved through challenges.

And so, the greater the obstacle, the more rewarding the outcome.

It's truly fascinating to see how the story evolves and how the characters develop in their pursuit of Go mastery.

Each new encounter and game brings with it new lessons and opportunities for growth.

We can't help but be drawn into the world of Go and root for our favorite characters as they face their respective challenges.

This volume is yet another exciting installment in the series, leaving us eager to see what lies ahead for Hikaru and Akira.

SPOILER

This story seems to have suffered from a kind of a second book phenomenon.

They held a competition to determine who would play on the team of Japan. However, it was as clear as day that it would be Hikaru, Toya, and the new guy.

I found it extremely unfair against Ochi. It was very unjust.

You could literally see that no one was accepting his talent. They were all simply amazed by Yashiro's cool moves. Moreover, Yashiro is good-looking, while Ochi is small, has a mushroom haircut, and small eyes.

To be honest, I really like this volume the least among all. It just didn't have the same charm and excitement as the previous ones. The unfair treatment of Ochi really bothered me and made it difficult for me to fully enjoy this part of the story.

Maybe in the next volume, there will be a turn of events and Ochi will get the recognition he deserves. I hope so.

Ogata-sensei is truly an outstanding character. At present, he has become one of my favorite manga villains. His presence in the series is both captivating and influential.

He is not the typical evil character that one might expect. Instead, he presents a sharp and charismatic persona that serves as a significant obstacle to Hikaru and Akira's progress.

His actions and decisions add an extra layer of complexity and excitement to the story. I firmly believe that the remainder of the series will only enhance my impression of him.

I am eager to see how his character develops further and how his interactions with Hikaru and Akira unfold. Ogata-sensei's role in the manga is truly a fascinating one, and I look forward to seeing more of him in the upcoming chapters.

Finally, there is some tense Go action.

The boys are engaged in a fierce battle for the qualifiers in the international Hokuto cup. As mentioned, Akira was seeded, but Hikaru, Waya, and Ochi must fight tooth and nail for the remaining two spots.

However, a new star has emerged, Yashiro, from a different Go association. He plays an amazing and disruptive game. Honda is the first to encounter his unique style when they play in a different situation.

All things considered, Hikaru has to be prepared for a nasty surprise as he will ultimately meet this guy in the preliminaries.

The volume's tone returns to the thrilling sporting action, and it is once again a great pleasure to read. I really like that after the main story arc, the new arc is also extremely exciting, keeping the readers on the edge of their seats.
