I really wish that they didn't have Hikaru progressing in his skill at such a rapid pace. It feels extremely rushed and doesn't give the readers enough time to fully appreciate and understand the development.

The conflict regarding the club versus the Insei also seemed to be resolved a little too speedily. It would have been more engaging if there was more build-up and a more drawn-out process of resolving the differences.

However, aside from these two aspects, it was still another enjoyable volume. The story continues to be interesting and captivating, with plenty of moments that keep the readers on the edge of their seats.

Despite the flaws, the overall quality of the volume is still quite high, and it leaves the readers eager to see what will happen next in Hikaru's journey.

There are numerous small changes that take place in this volume, which are well worth taking note of.

The art style has undergone a subtle transformation and represents a slight improvement compared to the previous volumes. It adds a new layer of visual appeal and enhances the overall reading experience.

The characters, too, are making significant changes that will contribute to their development and advancement within the world of Go. These changes are not only interesting but also crucial for their growth as individuals.

Truly, this volume is all about the little details. While it may seem like a slower volume compared to the previous four, which were filled with rapid growth and movement, this pace is actually very enjoyable. It allows the reader to fully immerse themselves in the story and appreciate the nuances and subtleties.

I firmly believe that this volume is sowing the seeds for future volumes, setting the stage for even more exciting developments and character arcs. It leaves the reader eager to see what lies ahead and how the story will unfold.

Overall, this volume is a worthy addition to the series and continues to build upon the foundation laid by the previous volumes. It offers a unique and engaging reading experience that will satisfy both fans of the series and newcomers alike.

Another Great Volume!

by Barbara Kelley

This was yet another outstanding volume. In it, Akira engaged in a thrilling game of Sai over the Internet. What's more exciting is that Akira will be making the leap to becoming a professional player next Spring. Hikaru, upon learning this news, is inspired and decides that he too will take the Insei test in order to pursue a professional career in the same field. The story in this volume is filled with anticipation and determination. It keeps the readers on the edge of their seats, eager to see what will happen next. I was so impressed with this volume that I毫不犹豫地gave it a full 5 stars. It truly deserves such a high rating for its engaging plot and well-developed characters.

Hikaru No Go's fifth volume presents an exciting turn of events. Sai and Akira engage in a rematch over the internet, maintaining anonymity. The remainder of the volume delves into Hikaru's personal goals, independent of Sai. This collection progresses at a somewhat slower pace, yet I thoroughly relish the emphasis on Hikaru's journey of realizing his goal and taking decisive steps to pursue it. We also witness Sai reaching a realization, albeit a relatively minor one compared to the spotlight on Hikaru. Ultimately, the final chapters center around Hikaru's dilemma of whether to remain in the middle school go club or embark on a professional go career. As noted by other reviewers, Takeshi Obata's art has a palpable maturity. It is more refined, and the characters appear more grown-up, which is apt given the volume's focus. Overall, Volume 5 effectively propels the series' focus forward and demonstrates that this series still has abundant vitality and potential.

The end of the start. After Akira finally faces Sai over the internet, a rather humorous incident occurs. Akira discovers that Hikaru is in an internet cafe, but instead of finding him on the go program, he catches him on the Shonen Jump website. This encounter gives Akira the freedom to take the pro exam, which he successfully passes.

Hikaru, on the other hand, finally realizes that he needs to do more to keep up with Akira. After having a discussion with Kayo first, who uses a bit of reverse psychology on him, Hikaru decides to go for the Insei test. However, he struggles with basic tasks like recording his own game, but this presents yet another learning opportunity for him.

I think by now Hikaru is finally starting to grow. Although there is less action in this part of the story, there is a significant amount of character development. We can see Hikaru evolving right before our eyes. Finally, it seems that the author has found her unique voice and is able to bring the characters to life in a more profound way.

Love all of this manga.

It is really nice to enjoy the additional scenes that aren't in the anime. The detailed and vivid artwork is just fantastic, making every panel a visual treat.

The story is also really beginning to pick up in this particular volume. For Hikaru, things take a more serious turn.

We get to see a deeper side of his character as he faces new challenges and experiences.

The plot becomes more engaging and complex, keeping the readers on the edge of their seats.

Overall, this manga is a great addition to any collection and I can't wait to see what happens next in Hikaru's journey.

Volume 4 was truly excellent. However, for me, this series has already started to decline in this volume.

I'm not fond of the direction it's taking. The reasons I have a great passion for sports anime and manga are the friendships among the characters, the teamwork, and how deeply they care for each other. (Even though I despise working with others as I'm not adept in social situations.) I had hoped that this series would continue with Hikaru on a team, and we could follow their journey together. But instead, it seems we will follow his individual path of becoming a pro and the team's progress without him. I understand that this is to maintain Hikaru's rivalry with Akira, but I don't like this turn. Of course, I really liked Yuri on Ice, but I already expected him to compete individually as it's figure skating. In Kuroko's Basketball and Haikyu, we witness the main characters improve both independently and with their teams, participate in school tournaments, and then years later, some of the Haikyu characters become pros. That's what I was hoping and expecting from this series, but unfortunately, it's not going to happen.

Although I'm so disappointed with the current direction that I want to stop reading this series, I have to at least read up to volume 10 as I have the first 10 volumes. If I end up enjoying the next few volumes, then I'll purchase the rest of the series. If not, then I'll skip to the last arc and read it on the shonen jump app. I hope I'll like it because I truly enjoyed the first 4 volumes, and I really like the cover of volume 22. The way Hikaru looks kind of reminds me of Light from Death Note (even though I'm not a fan of Death Note), which makes sense since Obata illustrated both manga series.

It was so much fun!

Akira's face was the best! Finding Hikaru in the internet café was a total letdown! Instead of Go, he was looking at Jump! Akira's disappointment was quite interesting. The pages of Jump were also nostalgic. There were so many wonderful stories in it: Inuyasha, Shaman King, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Hunter X Hunter, One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin... It would have been great to meet all of them once.

F HOT
hng
vol. 5

F HOT is an interesting and unique concept. It might refer to something that is extremely popular or in high demand. The abbreviation "hng" could potentially stand for a variety of things, perhaps a specific term or organization related to the F HOT topic. Volume 5 indicates that this is the fifth installment or edition of whatever F HOT represents. It could be a magazine, a series of events, or a collection of something. Without further context, it's difficult to determine the exact nature of F HOT. However, it's clear that it has some significance and is likely to attract the attention of those who are interested in the particular area it pertains to. Whether it's a hot trend in fashion, a cutting-edge technology, or a popular cultural phenomenon, F HOT has the potential to make an impact and generate excitement.
