Somehow, the English editions of some of these didn't make their way onto Goodreads.

It's rather puzzling how this could have happened. Perhaps there were issues with distribution or marketing that prevented these English editions from reaching the popular book review and discovery platform.

Goodreads is a widely used and influential site where readers can share their thoughts and recommendations, discover new books, and connect with other book lovers.

The absence of these English editions means that many potential readers may not be aware of their existence.

It could also impact the authors and publishers, as they may miss out on valuable exposure and reviews.

It would be beneficial if steps could be taken to ensure that all English editions are properly listed and promoted on Goodreads, so that readers have access to a wider range of books and can make more informed choices.

In this volume, the titans clash! FINALLY!! Sai gets his epic scene and combat. It's an intense and thrilling moment that keeps the readers on the edge of their seats. But the story doesn't end there. After the combat, Sai analyses the game with Hikaru. And in this analysis, Hikaru learns something truly great. Sai, on the other hand, comes to a profound understanding. He realizes that his whole purpose was to take Hikaru that far. He has fulfilled his使命, and it's time for him to move on.

A few chapters later, Sai vanishes. This comes as a shock to the readers, especially to those who have grown attached to his character. I am so sad. It's been really long since I last was all ruined for a fictional character. When Hikaru goes looking for him, I can't help but cry. I feel so lonely, just like Hikaru. Sai's departure leaves a void in the story and in the hearts of the readers. But perhaps, this is the way the story was meant to be. Sai's presence has had a profound impact on Hikaru, and now it's time for Hikaru to continue his journey without him.

The story takes a bit of a tiring turn after the intense confrontation between Sai and Toya Meijin.

Subsequently, Hikaru is simply on the hunt for new challenges and stumbles upon a 6 dan player named Kurata. Kurata takes notice of Hikaru's strength when Hikaru challenges him to a game.

On the second reading, Sai suggests that he might actually disappear. I now realize that this was far more significant than I initially thought. It's blatantly clear that the author intends to retire the ghost.

And it's... well... I sense that there's an emotional undercurrent being set up, but it hasn't quite materialized yet. There's a certain anticipation in the air, as if something profound is about to unfold, but for now, it remains just out of reach.

The story seems to be at a crossroads, with Hikaru's future and Sai's fate hanging in the balance. It will be interesting to see how the author weaves these elements together and brings the story to a satisfying conclusion.

What a Go Battle!

I was certain, not just positive, that this volume would be a letdown compared to the previous two. However, I was completely wrong! This volume was just as good and just as intense as the others. Hotta, Obata, and Umezawa deserve great praise for their work. It's strange to say, but if the series ended with this volume, there would be a sense of incompletion, yet it would still be satisfying. On the other hand, volumes 12 - 14 (this one included) leave me with such a beautiful feeling about the series. I truly believe that years from now, I will still enjoy this part more than other portions of the series. It's a testament to the quality and engaging nature of this particular volume and the overall series. The Go battles are so well-depicted, the characters so vivid, and the story so captivating that it's impossible not to be drawn in and thoroughly enjoy the experience.

Mr. Ogata is so scary!

Soon his true identity will be revealed...

Is Isshiki really going to do it? It seems difficult! Maybe it's just practice. It's absolutely impossible for me. My Bisarre memory isn't that strong.

I wonder what will happen next. Will Mr. Ogata's secret be discovered? And what about Isshiki's attempt? I'm really curious.

I hope I can understand more about this situation and not be left in the dark. Maybe I should try to improve my own abilities too, so that I can better face these challenges.

Who knows what kind of adventures and surprises await us in the future?

Things really start to take a turn here, for both Sai and Hikaru.

Sai, the ancient spirit who has been attached to the Go board for centuries, experiences a significant shift in his circumstances. He begins to have a deeper understanding of the modern world and his own existence. His relationship with Hikaru also evolves as they face new challenges and opportunities together.

Hikaru, on the other hand, finds himself growing more and more involved with Sai and the game of Go. He discovers new aspects of his own talent and potential, and begins to question his own goals and dreams. As the story progresses, both Sai and Hikaru must learn to adapt to the changes that are happening around them, and find a way to move forward in the face of uncertainty.

Ogata sensei is menacing hha.

This one-color go match with Kurata pro is one of the interesting things in this volume.

Ogata sensei's playing style is full of aggression and mystery, which makes his opponents feel pressured.

Kurata pro, on the other hand, is a very experienced and skilled player. He has his own unique way of thinking and playing in the go game.

The competition between the two is bound to be intense and exciting.

Both sides will do their best to show their strength and wisdom, and strive for victory.

Readers can look forward to seeing how Ogata sensei and Kurata pro will perform in this one-color go match, and what kind of surprises and excitement they will bring to everyone.

Pretty great board game manga!

I really liked the story. It was engaging and full of interesting twists and turns. The characters were well-developed and their personalities shone through.

The art was really nice too. The illustrations were detailed and colorful, bringing the story to life. The artist did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of the board game world.

Overall, I would highly recommend this board game manga to anyone who enjoys a good story and beautiful art. It's a great read that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Whether you're a fan of board games or just looking for something new to read, this manga is definitely worth checking out. So go ahead and give it a try! You won't be disappointed.

Ecco,

the 14th volume of Hikaru no Go might represent a turning point.

Not only does the match between Sai and Toya end with the latter's defeat, but Sai realizes that his time on earth is about to come to an end as his mission is accomplished.

He has taught everything he could to Hikaru, and Hikaru, by being able to read the goban of their match and showing how Toya could have won if he had made a different move, has proven to be the worthy heir of Sai.

Could it be that Hikaru's destiny is to reach the hand of God?

This volume leaves readers with many questions and a sense of anticipation for what is to come in the story.

Will Hikaru continue to grow and develop as a go player?

What challenges and obstacles will he face along the way?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure, the world of Hikaru no Go is full of excitement and drama.

Sai Versus Toya Koyo; Hikaru Plays One Color Go!

by Barbara Kelley

Another great read! It nicely coincides with the anime version. This episode concludes the exciting Internet game between Sai and Toya Koyo. Sai manages to win by a narrow half point. However, Hikaru astutely points out to Sai that if Toya Koyo had placed a stone in a different particular space, then Toya would have emerged victorious by that same half point! The game had a global audience. People from all over the world were watching online. There was the professor from the Netherlands, the Chinese GO winner, Mr. Lee, the guy from New York, Ogata 9 Dan, the journalists in Japan, Waya (one of the fellow pros who became a pro with Hikaru), Akira Toya and his fellow buddies from his GO study group, and many others.

After that intense game, Hikaru engaged in a one color GO match with Kurata 6 Dan. Kurata offered some interesting advice to Akira. He told Akira that he should be vigilant as Hikaru was becoming equal to him. Akira shouldn't be overly concerned about winning against those above him but rather focus on those below him, especially Hikaru Shindo.

This was an excellent volume and I simply can't get enough of this manga! I guess I'll have to move on and read Volume 15 next. I have a habit of reading several books simultaneously, similar to watching multiple television series at the same time. I wholeheartedly gave this volume 5 stars!

The first half of the tankobon focuses on the ongoing online game between Koyo Toya and Sai, with the world closely observing. It's an intense battle between two geniuses, and only one can emerge as the winner - Fujiwara-no-Sai. However, it seems that the outcome of the game isn't the most crucial aspect. Apparently, Hikaru Shindo notices a move that neither Sai nor the Meijin considered or saw. If the Meijin had made this move, it would have ensured his victory.

The next day, Shindo visits the Meijin to confirm that he won't retire due to his loss. However, the Meijin is true to his word and doesn't view retirement as a terrible fate, despite Shindo's frantic reaction. Apparently, the game with Sai has transformed the Meijin. Although he lost his Judan title to Ogata before retiring, his game appears rejuvenated and youthful again.

The second half of the tankobon shows Shindo tricking Atsushi Kurata into playing Go with him by appealing to his vanity. Kurata is extremely cautious of Akira Toya below him trying to catch up, and after hearing that Shindo wants to compare himself with him, he agrees. After a game of one-color Go, Kurata is truly impressed with Shindo. Despite his loss, Kurata also becomes cautious of Shindo and relays this to Akira Toya when he visits his father.

Overall, the tankobon is really excellent. Although there is a dark foreshadowing regarding Fujiwara-no-Sai that I'm afraid will come true, which I don't want to happen. However, it makes sense in a literary context. I just wonder how Shindo will react if this occurs. I'm hesitantly looking forward to finding out in the next tankobon.

However, the idea of juju is not without controversy. Some people view it as superstitious and unfounded, while others firmly believe in its power.

Despite the different opinions, juju continues to be a part of many people's lives and cultures. It adds an element of mystery and wonder to the world around us.

Whether we believe in juju or not, it is important to respect the beliefs and traditions of others. After all, these are the things that make our world so diverse and interesting.
