Owen is a smart young man. He thinks about the mind and the act of thinking.

He wants to study in the field of Psychology instead of Engineering. He thinks he knows everything about life. He has decided where to study and what to do. He also tries not to be different and wants to look like everyone else. But one day, he meets Natalie and everything gets messed up. Natalie is a different girl who is into music and thinks being different is important. The differently working minds of these two young people attract them to each other. A very beautiful friendship is born between them; until...

This is an extraordinary book that contains no extraordinary elements. In short: It's only 92 pages long but it can take you to a place in your past and remind you of your old feelings. The book says very beautiful things about humans, their outlook on life, youth, parents, and love; it is naive but very realistic. The book can be read quickly in one sitting, its language is very simple but what it tells is deep; so it is an important work that is worth reading twice and shows a different quality with each reading. If you come across it, be sure to get it.

The translation is also beautiful, only in a few places the conjunction "de" and "her şey" are written together.

Here are some quotes:

"Both the smart and the dumb among little children are idiots. They do idiotic things. They blurt out whatever comes to their minds. They haven't yet learned not to say something without thinking. They will learn this later, when they enter adulthood and realize they are alone."

"She laughed again and looked at me. Just for a second. But she looked and saw. She wasn't looking at me to see what she resembled, she was looking to see what I resembled. This was extremely unusual for me."

(Although this quote doesn't express much in terms of content, the choice of words amazed me. Owen had just eaten, and while sitting, the lumps had grown in his mouth, and he had finished the roast half-heartedly. And then he says:)

"I went downstairs, and with the image of that piece of meat that I still felt in my mouth, I said, 'I'm going to take a drive in the car for a while' and went out and jumped into my new car."

"A stone was needed. Something to hold onto, something to stand on. Something solid, something tangible. Because everything was softening, becoming spongy, being submerged in the slime of a swamp. The fog was thickening on all sides. I didn't even know where I was."

"We decided that there was no point in asking questions like what is the meaning of life; because life is not an answer, it is a question and the answer to life is you, yourself."

"I've had sublime moments before. Once while walking in the park at night, in the rain, in the fall. Once in the middle of the desert, under the stars, on the day the earth rotated on its axis. Something that happened while thinking about someone, just thinking and pondering. But always alone. By myself. This time I wasn't alone. I had a friend with me at the top of the sublime mountain. There's nothing, nothing better than this. Even if I never see it again in my life, I can still say, I was there once."

I have a great affection for Ursula Le Guin's writing in general.

Perhaps I delved into this particular work a little too tardily. Maybe it would have held far more significance for me during my own teenage years.

I believe she has accurately captured the essence of the type of teenagers she is描绘ing. They are so extremely earnest about themselves, their relationships, and their future careers. They are on the verge of leaving the nest but not quite ready yet.

The issue, as I see it, is that although she writes in the first person, her prose always possesses a slightly detached quality.

Often, this works to her advantage, but in this instance, I anticipated something more warm and intimate.

The writing itself is excellent, yet there is simply too much that is lacking for my taste. Ursula Le Guin is not among those writers who can compel me to read solely based on the power of her writing, unlike, for example, Raymond Chandler.

I always have much higher expectations of her.

There was something magnificent in crying. It was much more than I could bear, as if everything had come together at once. But there was something magnificent in this. Part of it was also love. I mean true love. I had seen Natalie in the way I loved her and in the way she really was, within that song.

To be different and to be able to find a different voice within society.

To be able to find a living space for oneself; if you can find that beautiful person where you can be completely yourself, where there is no judgment, where competitions cannot enter, and where you are not obliged to fit into molds, how happy you are...

The story of two young people who are very lucky in trying to find.

It has a special place in my heart.

At first, I regarded the book as a novel that Ursula K. Le Guin told the love story of a young person and which should not be entered into with expectations when reading. Then I realized that in this slim novel, even though the main character is male, feminist elements weigh heavily. In fact, perhaps Ursula was trying to tell in such a way this time, the problematic aspects of the social role of women.

...Because he was a man, the whole family had expected a lot from him. The ladies who were not expected anything from themselves because they were women had also sat down and written books like Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. It makes one think. After all, since I had parents who expected less from me than what I wanted to give, perhaps I would not be considered so unlucky. Perhaps being born as a man was not such a bad gift at all.

This novel challenges our traditional gender expectations and makes us reflect on the unequal treatment and opportunities between men and women in society. It shows that gender roles are not fixed but constructed, and that we need to question and change the existing social norms to achieve gender equality.

Dear friends, this story is about a teenager named "Owen Griffiths". He has never had a girlfriend until he meets the first girl and falls in love with her. The girl's name is "Natalie Field", who is older than Owen and a musician's apprentice.

Natalie's family is very religious, and this has a great impact on her lifestyle and even her friendships.

Owen's father gives him a car as a gift, and Owen goes to the beach with Natalie twice. Finally, after a while, Owen proposes to her, but Natalie refuses. Because she doesn't want to have a sexual relationship with Owen.

Poor Owen is heartbroken and drives the car to the bottom of the ravine, but he survives. He even regrets going to college because of this love failure. But finally, after some conversations between him and Natalie, the course of his life changes.

I have never understood those boys and girls who avoid having a sexual relationship with their partners. My dear friends, I don't mean that you should have sex with anyone you meet. If someone is so immoral that from the beginning of the friendship, his eyes are attracted to the lower part of your body and he has no sense of seeing the upper part of your body, no awareness and no wisdom, then he is a person who has no value in a relationship and no respect for the names of friends and lovers. This possessive feeling of the other party, especially the sexual possessiveness of men towards women, under the guise of love and affection, can easily lead women astray. But on the contrary, it is very rare that a woman's love is based on absolute sexual desire. Although sex and love can increase the degree of love from 50 to 99. So when the other party is all about your desires and your heart, why should you avoid sex, which can quickly push the entire path of friendship forward? I mean those people who avoid any relationship for a long time, but then are ready to do it after a while. If you are going to have sex with someone you love, don't waste time. Because the lost time has hurt both you and the other party, and with the familiarity and hesitation you have, you are only hitting the friendship.

I hope this review is helpful for you to get to know this book.

If you want to see a better construction regarding the portrayal and criticism of American youth as well as the feeling of being alienated from society, watch the masterpiece Badlands (1973). In my opinion, it did a much better job both in depicting the alienation of the youth from society and family and in handling its sexuality. But I must warn that Terrence Malick has a very personal style. You can rate the film a 10 or a 1.

When it comes to this book, first of all, I liked what was being told, but not through the characters, but through the author. In fact, I never liked the characters. I was initially warmed up, but then Ursula Le Guin created an atmosphere as if she was saying, "Back off, I'm going to say my own thoughts." The way I saw them as characters at the beginning, I started to see them as puppets in the later parts. And in a sense, this pulled me out of the story I had entered. Was I bored? I wasn't bored for a single second. Ursula Le Guin advanced the story in a very nice style, but frankly, if this were not a short novel but an experimental book, I would have liked it even more.

She continues with the "Her Ay Yeniden Bir Ursula" series. There is a respectful attitude towards the ancient dragon. At first, I read it as a university student at the beginning of the road. It had given me what I needed at that time. For a while, I thought it was the book. Now my son will read it, and I will recommend it to the youth. That's life.

This series seems to hold a special charm that has endured over time. It not only captured my attention as a young student but also has the potential to inspire the next generation. The story within its pages likely contains valuable lessons and experiences that can resonate with people of all ages.

As I look back on my own reading experience, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for having discovered this series. It has become a part of my life's journey, and I am excited to share it with my son and others. I believe that it will continue to touch the hearts and minds of many, just as it did for me.

In a world where there are countless books to choose from, "Her Ay Yeniden Bir Ursula" stands out as a gem that is worth exploring. It has the power to transport readers to another world, to make them think, and to leave a lasting impression. I can't wait to see how my son and the youth will respond to this wonderful series.

I didn't realize this story existed until this afternoon when I was browsing through the bookstore. It was like a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. As I picked up the book and started flipping through the pages, I was immediately drawn in by the captivating narrative.

Anything I have to say about it is probably too angsty to put online, even though Goodreads is practically my diary. The emotions that this story evoked in me were so intense that I struggled to find the right words to express them. It made me feel a range of things, from heartbreak to hope, and everything in between.

All I can say is, this story is excellent. It has a way of grabbing your attention and not letting go until the very end. The characters are well-developed and the plot is full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story that will make them feel all the feels.

I always have high expectations for Ursula Le Guin. Her works are known for their depth and creativity. However, when I started reading this book, I had some doubts. The story is set approximately 50 years ago in a place half the world away from where I live. I thought it might be difficult for me to relate to the characters and their experiences.

But as I delved deeper into the book, I was pleasantly surprised. There were no big WOW moments or unexpected plot twists. Instead, it was a realistic and relatable coming-of-age story. Le Guin's beautiful prose brought the characters and their world to life. I found myself empathizing with the protagonist's struggles and joys.

It made me realize that despite the differences in time and place, the human experience is universal. We all go through similar stages of growth and self-discovery. This book reminded me of the importance of looking beyond our own lives and understanding the experiences of others. It was a refreshing and engaging read that I would highly recommend to anyone.

I remember the moment when I was there.

It was a place full of mystery and charm.

The air was filled with a unique fragrance, as if it was a call from another world.

I walked along the path, feeling the soft grass beneath my feet.

The trees were tall and lush, providing a cool shade.

As I went deeper, I discovered a small lake.

The water was crystal clear, reflecting the surrounding scenery like a mirror.

I sat by the lake, listening to the gentle lapping of the water and the chirping of the birds.

It was a peaceful and beautiful scene that made me forget all my troubles.

I will always remember that moment when I was there.

It was a memory that would stay with me forever.

I thought I might have read this already, but picked it up in the Amnesty bookshop anyway.

Turns out I had. It is very dated and has a remarkably heavy-handed message for the woman who wrote so eloquently that books should be about story, not message.

However, it's a good message and there's a lot to like in the book despite the preaching.

For example, the story itself is engaging and the characters are well-developed.

Even though the message is a bit too obvious at times, it still manages to get across the important points.

Moreover, its being so short helps enormously too!

It makes it an easy and quick read, which is perfect for those who don't have a lot of time to spare.

Overall, while the book may have its flaws, it still has a lot to offer and is worth reading.

In this matter, the thing we forget is also this;

We think we know what we are waiting for, but we can't;

The thing you are waiting for will not happen, and the thing you don't expect will happen instead.

This shows that our expectations are often not in line with the actual situation.

We may spend a lot of time and energy waiting for something that we think is certain to happen, but in the end, it doesn't happen as we expected.

On the other hand, something that we didn't expect at all may suddenly appear and change our lives.

Therefore, we should not rely too much on our expectations, but be more open-minded and flexible to face various possibilities in life.
