Not much to say.

Actually, I checked out the anime because it is quite famous and it was just really weird.

I then decided to give the manga a try.

Surprisingly, it isn't actually bad. It's just extremely weird.

However, this weirdness is part of its charm.

I don't know, but there is something about it that is really entertaining and keeps me wanting to look at it.

I can't quite put my finger on it and explain it clearly.

It's so weird yet so entertaining, with a fast-paced storyline.

I'll definitely keep an eye on this manga and see where it takes me.

Maybe there are more surprises and strange but wonderful things waiting for me to discover.

I'm curious to see how the story develops and what new elements will be introduced.

Overall, it's a unique and interesting manga that has managed to capture my attention despite its weirdness.

WTF did I just read??? Seriously. WHAT.

I've heard of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" SO many times before, and I got curious.

(my friends quoted this manga several times before (e.g. "そこにシビれる!あこがれるゥ!"), and I got invited to an escape game featuring JoJo world, so I HAD to know what the deal is.)

But oh god, what is this.

I know the serialization started in the late 1980s, but the drawing (I had a hard time telling Dio and JoJo apart), the words and phrases characters use (the small ッ and ゥ at the ending of the words... ew why), the unique onomatopoeia ("ズキュゥウウン" for kissing? what the actual fu*k)... they were all SO. CRINGEY. AS. HELL.

Everything is so old-fashioned in a bad way.

I've read mangas written in the 1970s and they were way better than this.

... and why is everyone always shoUTING IN THIS MANGAAAAA?

However, since this is only the very first book in the very long series, I will keep on reading.

I wanna know the cultural references when I see one in the future.

(And... I thought this series was about battles between people with superpowers called "stand"... so far the story is about two boys in Victorian-era England...)

I would've given this manga 3 stars, but I can't stop cringing and laughing at ridiculous onomatopoeias...so 2 stars. "It was ok." (which is not a bad thing to say about a book, come to think of it)

...okay, off to the next one!

I was truly shocked by what I just read. I had heard about "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" numerous times, and my curiosity finally got the better of me. My friends had quoted this manga often, and being invited to an escape game set in the JoJo world made me determined to understand. But to my dismay, it was quite a strange experience. The art style was confusing, making it hard to distinguish between characters like Dio and JoJo. The words and phrases used by the characters, with those odd little ッ and ゥ at the end, were just ew. And the onomatopoeias were completely out of this world. Kissing being described as "ズキュゥウウン"? Seriously? It all felt so outdated in a really bad way. I've read mangas from the 1970s that were far superior. And why are the characters always shouting? It's deafening! However, since this is just the beginning of a long series, I'm going to persevere. I'm hoping to pick up on some cultural references as I read further. I thought the series was about battles between people with "stand" superpowers, but so far it's just about two boys in Victorian England. I would have given it 3 stars, but the cringe-worthy onomatopoeias made me laugh so much that I had to settle for 2 stars. "It was ok." But that's not such a bad thing when you think about it. Now, on to the next one!

Whether you're a fan of drama or comedy, these books are sure to satisfy your reading cravings. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an exciting and enjoyable read.

JJBA Phantom Blood is an incredibly powerful story that revolves around the Joestar family and their unwavering fight against evil, all with a central theme of justice. I'm currently doing a review on this, having read all the parts of Phantom Blood. What I'm taking away from this story is that nice guys don't always finish first, but standing on the side of good is undoubtedly the right thing to do, and ultimately, good will prevail.

(Spoilers Ahead) I truly liked the powerful moment of George Joestar's death as he selflessly defends his son from the wrath of Dio. It was a heart-wrenching and heroic scene. I also enjoy how Jonathan and Dio are polar opposites, making them the perfect rivals. Their contrasting personalities and motives add depth and excitement to the story. Additionally, I like Jonathan's relationship with William Zeppeli, as Zeppeli takes on both a friend and father role for him.

However, I do think they could have made the story a bit faster-paced as it was slow at some points. They also could have delved more into George's past to provide more context and background. But overall, it was an amazing read that kept me engaged from start to finish.

JoJo is definitely bizarre.

At first, I delved into the anime with the perception that it was "the gayest anime you'll ever see". And I liked it so much that I'm currently completely obsessed.

The manga is equally not bad, although the art style isn't for everyone.

Phantom Blood takes place in the 19th century and has a slightly different vibe than the continuation. There are vampires, hatred between "half-brothers" and so on.

But don't expect any fluff because the author doesn't shy away from anything. There are very cruel deaths of dogs, cats, people and so on. Yum!

A lot of people don't like Diavolo (the antagonist), but I love him. I can always laugh at the epic scene with the kiss!

4/5*

My favorite part of the JJBA series so far is the character of Jonathan.

He might come across as a little naive at times, but that's what makes him so endearing. Jonathan is a truly remarkable gentleman. His kindness and compassion shine through in every interaction he has.

Despite facing numerous challenges and adversaries, he always maintains his integrity and sense of honor. He is willing to fight for what is right, even if it means putting himself in harm's way.

Jonathan's unwavering spirit and determination are truly inspiring. He serves as a role model for what it means to be a true hero. I can't wait to see what other adventures and challenges he will face in the future of the JJBA series.

Lord help me.

Every volume of JOJO up to 60 is sitting right next to me, as we speak, in a grand stack on the floor. Summer procrastination, whee!

Some people say that 'Phantom Blood' is the weakest arc. But what? Phantom Blood sets us up for one of the greatest cross-generational love stories (strike out) ever told. The old school drawings in it are amazing. I highly recommend starting from the very beginning.

[Vol 1: In which Dio Brando comes into the Joestar home and starts to royally mess up Jonathan's life. Dio becomes intrigued by a mysterious stone mask hung in his adoptive father's house. This sets in motion a series of events that will change the course of both their lives forever. The story unfolds with intense action, complex characters, and a unique art style that draws you in and keeps you hooked.]

It's truly fascinating to observe the extent of the cult following that JoJo has amassed. Admittedly, I am a part of this devoted following. However, when considering this particular entry, it feels rather lukewarm and clichéd.

I'm certain that as it was released in serialized chapters, there was some level of interest generated regarding what was going to unfold next. But when looking at it as a complete volume of work, I would almost feel cheated out of my money, especially since I had no prior knowledge of what was to come.

There is the establishment of the JoJo/Dio rivalry, but its execution comes across as rather rote. Dio, without a doubt, is an absolute psychopath, while JoJo is presented as an absolute saint. There is some turmoil in JoJo's development, but it seems to just skip ahead when the real conflict and the final blow are dealt to him.

Thankfully, it does progress in the direction that it does.

The story takes place in England.

Jonathan Joestar lives with his father George, one of the wealthiest men in the country and the owner of real estate. There is another young man named Dio Brando who lives with them because he lost his father and George is indebted to Dio's father. In the past, Dio took advantage of this debt. The relationship between Dio and Jonathan was very tense. Jonathan often tries to build a sincere relationship between himself and Dio. On the other hand, Dio plots to kill Jonathan and gets closer to George. As the story develops, a bloody conflict occurs between Dio and Jonathan, which will determine the fate of our series.

This is a thrilling and engaging story that keeps the readers on the edge of their seats. The complex relationship between the characters adds depth and interest to the plot. The setting in England also provides a rich backdrop for the events to unfold. Overall, it is a story that is sure to captivate readers with its exciting twists and turns.

Memes in this volume offer a unique and entertaining experience.

The first meme features an animated gif that catches the eye with its lively movement. It sets the tone for what's to come, inviting us to "LET'S START FROM THE VERY BEGINNING."

Accompanying this is a link to a YouTube video that provides further context or perhaps additional humorous content related to the meme.

The second meme presents a still image that seems to hint at the beginning of something. The caption "THE BEGINNING" emphasizes this concept.

Once again, there is a link to a YouTube video, with the instruction to start at 0:40 for the full meme effect.

These memes not only bring a smile to our faces but also have the power to connect people through shared humor and references. They have become an integral part of our online culture, spreading quickly and easily across social media platforms.

I truly adored the captivating plot twists that this book presented. I had听闻 it was an anime, but since I'm not a fan of anime, I opted to read the book instead. And boy, was I glad I did! I absolutely loved this book!

Dio was an incredibly impactful character. His actions were so significant that I still can't believe he ended up killing Jonathan's dad. It was an extremely sad moment that really tugged at my heartstrings.

Moreover, I was in awe of Jonathan's selflessness. The fact that he gave up his own life on the ship to save his dad was truly heroic. The last few chapters were like a roller coaster of emotions, taking me on a wild ride of excitement, sadness, and everything in between. This book is definitely one that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling and emotional read.
