I arrived with some doubts. I am a die-hard fan of Martin, but I hadn't read anything of his outside of "A Song of Ice and Fire". And what a pleasant surprise it was for me. These short stories reached me, made me feel so many things, took me to so many places, and made me imagine as I hadn't done recently. It's amazing how in 30 pages he tells so, so, so much. And not just the story that gives its name to this compilation. Almost all of them I loved. But yes, "A Song for Lya" is masterful. I recommend it to everyone. It's a light science fiction but very good.

This collection of short stories by Martin is truly a gem. Each story has its own unique charm and takes the reader on a different journey. Whether it's a story of adventure, romance, or mystery, Martin's writing is always engaging and thought-provoking.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading science fiction or fantasy. It's a great introduction to Martin's work for those who haven't read anything by him before, and it's also a must-read for his fans. So, if you're looking for a good book to read, give this collection of short stories a try. You won't be disappointed.

This statement "Se diluye haciendo perder el interés del lector generado en la primera mitad del relato" implies that something gets diluted, causing the reader to lose the interest that was generated in the first half of the story.

It could be that the plot becomes too convoluted or拖沓, or perhaps the characters' development stalls. Maybe the author introduces too many unnecessary details or subplots that detract from the main narrative.

Whatever the cause, it is crucial for writers to maintain the reader's interest throughout the entire story. This can be achieved by carefully pacing the narrative, keeping the plot engaging and dynamic, and ensuring that the characters continue to evolve and grow.

By doing so, the reader will be more likely to stay invested in the story and see it through to the end.

It seems that I am gradually getting to know a good part of his stories. Even in this anthology, it was more than half.

GRRM sometimes likes to write SF-horror. The story "Override" belongs to this category. It is about a mortician who uses three corpses with artificial brains as working tools.

"Slide Show" was also nice. It is about a former astronaut who is no longer allowed to fly because he simply wasn't excellent enough. His new task is to give lectures at fundraising events to beg for money for the spaceship. And he hates it.

Good ideas and then well implemented. The man is just great.

Overall, this anthology offers a diverse range of stories that showcase GRRM's talent and creativity. Each story has its own unique charm and keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Whether you are a fan of SF, horror, or just good storytelling, this anthology is definitely worth checking out.

I had never read anything by this author before. I'm not interested in Games of Thrones and I've never seen the series. Until recently, I didn't even know that Martin wrote science fiction.

"A Song for Lya" is a collection of science fiction stories and it includes the Hugo Award-winning novel that gives the book its title.

Frankly, it has left me disappointed. I feel that the stories had an interesting premise that wasn't fully exploited, perhaps because they were short stories. I found them flat, and many of them were quite boring. My favorite was "The Hero" as it reminded me of "The Twilight Zone".

I expected more from this so popular author. I'm disappointed. I don't recommend it.
