The unabridged audiobook offers four-star advice, and Richard Carlson does a commendable four-star job of reading his book.

However, I can only rate the book three stars. The reason is that almost all the techniques he presents are ones I have already acquired from other sources.

These are indeed good techniques, and I was glad to have been reminded of some of them. Nevertheless, for me personally, this book is less useful compared to what it might be for many others.

I would recommend first reading or listening to Richard Carlson's Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, and It's All Small Stuff. If you appreciate the techniques taught in that book, which Carlson terms as reactive strategies, and you are interested in some proactive strategies in the same vein, then check out Easier Than You Think.

If nothing else, this book strongly affirms the concept that we possess a remarkable ability to transform the experience of our lives through simple techniques that alter the way we think.

Simplistic but nice, positive read for before bed.

This short description perfectly encapsulates a type of literature that can be truly beneficial for those looking to unwind and relax before sleep.

A simplistic read means that it doesn't overly complicate the story or the language used. It's easy to follow and understand, allowing the mind to effortlessly engage with the narrative.

The niceness of the read implies that it has a pleasant and enjoyable quality. It might be filled with heartwarming moments, kind characters, or a generally uplifting tone.

And being a positive read is crucial. It can help to shift our mindset from the stresses and worries of the day to a more optimistic and peaceful state.

Before bed, our minds are often in a state of transition, preparing to enter the realm of sleep. Reading something simplistic, nice, and positive can act as a gentle guide, soothing our thoughts and setting a more harmonious tone for the night ahead.

So, if you're looking for a way to unwind and relax before bed, consider picking up a book or story that fits this description. It just might be the perfect way to end your day on a positive note.

I absolutely love, love, love this book. It contains such wonderful, simple, and practical wisdom.

I have shared the stories with my husband and my 5-year-old nephew, and they both adore it as well.

I must have listened to this at least 10 - 15 times, and yet it never gets old. It's the way I was raised by my amazingly loving parents, and I have amazingly wonderful, kind, and loving role models and friends who also live and practice these practical suggestions.

If you have kids, it is definitely a must to listen to, read, and share with them, regardless of their age. It is beneficial for everyone, no matter how old we are. It's not just a "how-to" guide but a wonderful reminder of what we all know deep down but sometimes forget to apply in our busy lives.

But really, are we too busy to do the things that can make life better, make us happier, and treat others kinder and nicer?

Trust me, you will thoroughly enjoy it. Keep your heart open and let love flow in and out freely and generously.

Oh, and did I mention that I really, really like this book? Smile.

Richard Carlson had a #1 theme before he would compete in a sports game. His approach to life was the same strategy as Bill Murray's in "What About Bob."

That strategy was to take it 1 step at a time.

When Richard Carlson was 18 years old, a mentor taught him an important lesson. The mentor told him to read 8 pages every day for a whole year. This simple yet powerful advice had a profound impact on Richard.

Not only did it help him develop a habit of continuous learning, but it also instilled in him the idea of putting more into life than you take out of it.

By taking small, consistent steps each day, Richard was able to make significant progress in his personal and professional life.

He applied this same principle to his sports competitions, approaching each game with a focused and determined mindset, one step at a time.

This approach allowed him to stay calm and composed under pressure, and ultimately achieve success.

Richard Carlson's story serves as an inspiration to us all, showing that by taking things one step at a time and putting in the effort, we can achieve great things in life.

This was a book that truly would have been better to read over a period of time.

It was filled with a plethora of good things that demanded careful digestion.

The author had presented a wealth of ideas and concepts that were not meant to be rushed through.

Taking the time to read it slowly and deliberately allowed for a deeper understanding and appreciation of the content.

Each page seemed to hold a nugget of wisdom or an interesting perspective that required reflection.

Rushing through the book would have been a disservice to oneself, as many of the finer details and subtleties would have been missed.

By reading it over an extended period, one could savor the words and let the ideas soak in, resulting in a more enriching and fulfilling reading experience.

I liked this book better than the author's other work, "Don't sweat the small stuff."

Although there are some repetitions within this book, the new knowledge I gained has been extremely beneficial.

Even if I was already familiar with certain aspects covered in the book, it is still valuable to be reminded on a daily basis about those things that I might not be effectively implementing.

The length of each chapter is just right, and the writing style makes it easy for readers to extract actionable items and apply them to the situations being discussed.

This book provides practical advice and useful insights that can truly make a difference in one's life. It serves as a great guide for personal growth and self-improvement.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for ways to enhance their well-being and achieve a more fulfilling life.

Not perfect but very helpful. Breathe through your nose. This simple act can have a profound impact on your well-being. It helps to calm your nervous system and bring a sense of relaxation. Be present. In a world filled with distractions, it can be challenging to stay in the moment. But by focusing on the here and now, you can enhance your awareness and make more conscious decisions.

Focus on one thing when spiraling. When your mind starts to race and you feel overwhelmed, it's essential to pick one thing and focus on it. This can help to break the cycle of negative thoughts and bring clarity. Stop to think before reacting. In the heat of the moment, it's easy to respond impulsively. But by taking a moment to pause and consider your options, you can avoid making hasty decisions that you may later regret.

Follow your own priorities rather than the “urgency” of your inbox. It's easy to get caught up in the constant stream of emails and messages. But by setting your own priorities and focusing on what's truly important, you can achieve a better work-life balance and reduce stress.

I am truly surprised by the extent to which I liked this book.

It is not only plausible and intelligible but also has the potential to be highly fruitful.

There was a time in the past when I might have been quick to dismiss the author's message without giving it much thought.

However, in my current context, the idea of making small changes, or taking baby steps, to enhance one's outlook and quality of life really strikes a resonant chord within me.

It makes me realize that sometimes, it's not the big, drastic changes that are needed but rather the consistent implementation of small, positive actions that can lead to significant improvements.

This book has opened my eyes to the power of these incremental changes and has inspired me to start making them in my own life.

I look forward to seeing the positive results that these small changes will bring and am grateful to the author for presenting such a valuable and thought-provoking concept.

It was Ok.

Much of it was common sense.

However, sometimes we tend to overlook the obvious.

Common sense often seems so simple and straightforward, yet in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we might forget to apply it.

We get caught up in complex thoughts and overcomplicate things.

But when we stop and think, we realize that many solutions lie in the realm of common sense.

It's about using our basic understanding and judgment.

Maybe we need to take a step back and look at the situation from a different perspective.

By doing so, we can see the common sense approach that was right in front of us all along.

So, while it was just "Ok" and mostly common sense, we should remember the importance of not dismissing it.

Common sense can often lead us to the best solutions and make our lives a little easier.

I believe that the book in question was largely a repetition of the author's more renowned work.

It had its merits, and I did find some enjoyment in reading it. However, I don't envision it having a profound and life-altering impact on me.

While it may have offered some interesting perspectives and ideas, they seemed somewhat familiar and not entirely groundbreaking.

It's possible that those who are less familiar with the author's previous works might find this one more engaging and thought-provoking.

But for me, it felt more like a retread of territory that had already been explored.

Nevertheless, it was still a decent read, and I'm glad I took the time to peruse it.

Maybe in the future, the author will produce something that truly surprises and challenges me.

Until then, I'll continue to seek out other books that have the potential to change my life.
