This book was truly fascinating and extremely helpful.

I sincerely hope that none of you will ever have to read it. However, if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Diabetes, specifically type 1, but also insulin dependent type 2s could potentially benefit from it.

Good if you've got a dodgy pancreas.

A dodgy pancreas can cause a whole host of problems, but there are certain things that can be beneficial in such a situation.

For example, maintaining a healthy diet is crucial. This includes eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while reducing the intake of processed foods and sugars.

Regular exercise is also important, as it can help to improve insulin sensitivity and keep blood sugar levels in check.

In addition, it's essential to manage stress levels, as stress can have a negative impact on the pancreas and blood sugar control.

Finally, it's important to work closely with a healthcare team, including a doctor, dietitian, and diabetes educator, to develop a personalized treatment plan and ensure that any symptoms are managed effectively.

With the right care and management, it is possible to live a healthy and fulfilling life even with a dodgy pancreas.

I was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic in November of 2020.

Thankfully, I had an extended honeymoon period, which was truly a stroke of luck. This allowed me to forgo insulin until November 2021.

In November 2021, I began using a fast-acting insulin to cover my meals. However, it wasn't until February 2022 that I started using a basal insulin as well.

This book has been extremely beneficial. It does an excellent job of explaining the basics of Type 1 diabetes in a clear and understandable way. Moreover, it provides numerous details to meet many different needs.

As I navigate through the process of living with Type 1 diabetes, I'm certain that this is a book I'll pick up several times. It serves as a valuable resource that I can refer back to whenever I need more information or guidance.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes or anyone who wants to learn more about this condition.

I am truly and deeply thankful for this book. As someone who has just been newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, the journey of learning how to dose insulin, manage my blood sugars, and regain the weight I lost at the time of diagnosis has been incredibly arduous and challenging.

This remarkable book, however, has been an absolute godsend. It carefully and comprehensively walks me through all of these aspects in a clear, concise, and detailed manner. I really, really appreciate all the tables and equations it provides. They break down in a very understandable way how to bolus for different meals and, most importantly, how to avoid both the dreaded lows and highs of blood sugar levels.

I have a strong feeling that I will be referring back to this book countless times throughout the years. It has become an essential and invaluable resource in my fight against diabetes, and I am so grateful to have found it.

I have been diabetic since 1987, and it was not until 2022 that I finally read this book for the first time.

Was it "groundbreaking" for me? The answer is no. Much of the content I already knew because I have lived with the disease for such a long time and have read every manual for every pump I have owned.

However, is it a great resource for diabetics? The answer is a resounding yes!

Although I did not learn anything new, I did receive a good refresher course in the aspects of basal/bolus adjustments that I have been in need of.

This book is definitely a must-read for anyone who has been newly diagnosed or if you want to understand what a friend or family member is going through on a daily basis. It provides valuable information and practical tips that can help diabetics better manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

This is a truly useful book for not only those individuals who are directly dealing with diabetes but also for those who are providing support to someone with this condition.

After reading this book, I have gained a significant number of practical tips that have proven to be extremely beneficial. Moreover, it has also enhanced my understanding of the reasons behind the rules that I have been following. It has made me realize why certain rules make perfect sense and in what situations they might need to be adjusted.

However, the only drawback that I have noticed is that the material in the book seems a little outdated. Additionally, some of the links provided within the book are no longer active. Nevertheless, despite these minor flaws, the general advice and information presented in the book are still very sound and reliable.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in diabetes or is looking for ways to better manage this condition.
