I began reading Eragon along with my kids, and to my great surprise, I got completely drawn into the story. It is truly a work filled with vivid imagination and a captivating plot, which is in sharp contrast to the movie. The details and the depth of the story in the book are simply amazing. It takes you on a journey through a magical world, filled with dragons, elves, and dwarves. The characters are well-developed and the relationships between them are complex and engaging. I found myself constantly turning the pages, eager to find out what would happen next.

Unlike the movie, which often simplifies and cuts out important parts of the story, the book allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world that Christopher Paolini has created. It gives you a chance to experience the emotions and the adventures of the characters as if you were right there with them. I can't wait to continue this reading journey with my kids and explore the third book together. I'm sure it will be just as exciting and fulfilling as the first two.

I had an extremely tough time dealing with the appallingly bad writing in the first novel. Ben and I were reading it aloud during our drive, and I couldn't help but keep interrupting with exclamations of dismay.

Seriously, how many times can something be described as 'liquid silver'? It became quite repetitive and tiresome. And how many chapters do you need to end with someone being hit on the back of the head and blacking out? It felt like a cheap trick to create suspense.

However, given the lack of resolution at the end of the first book and the fact that I had the second one right there in my hands, I decided to continue on. Thankfully, Paolini's writing does show some improvement. There were some satisfying climaxes towards the end, which made the reading experience a bit more enjoyable.

Nevertheless, there were still enough loose ends left hanging that I could see myself eventually reading the third book once it comes out. But I probably won't be in a rush to do so. I'll wait and see if the story continues to develop in an interesting and engaging way.

I absolutely loved the movie. It was truly captivating from start to finish. The story, the characters, and the special effects all came together to create an unforgettable experience.

And then I discovered the books. Oh my goodness, they are just as awesome! The detailed descriptions in the books bring the story to life in a whole new way. You get to know the characters on a deeper level and understand their motives and emotions.

The books also expand on the world-building, adding more depth and complexity to the already fascinating universe. It's like opening a door to a whole new world every time you turn the page.

Whether you're a fan of the movie or just looking for a great read, I highly recommend checking out the books. They are a must-have for any lover of great storytelling.

I vividly remember reading this book when I was younger. I was completely immersed in it, loving every single minute. However, as I decided to reread it recently, my perception changed drastically. I found that I didn't like it at all. The character of Eragon seems to be a complete stiff. There is hardly any personality in any of the characters, with the exception of Angela and her werecat. Arya might have an ounce of personality, but overall, the other characters lack any real depth. Additionally, all the books are far too slow-paced. It seems that there isn't much of a proper storyline either. It's more like "The Adventures of Eragon" rather than a truly engaging and well-structured story. It's just a magnificent little romp of Eragon and his Dragon, who appears more like his mother, even though Eragon was the one taking care of her. If I could, I would rate this book only 1/2 a star.

This is one of my most favorite book series ever!!

I vividly remember reading Eragon when I was just 12 years old. It was an absolute delight, and I devoured it, reading every spare minute that I could. It was my very first "big kid" novel, and the adventure it offered was incredibly alluring.

The story of Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, took me on a thrilling journey through a magical world filled with danger, excitement, and wonder.

Although I didn't find Eldest to be quite as exciting and fast-paced as Eragon, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters continued to develop, and the plot thickened, keeping me engaged from start to finish.

Aside from the individual books, I loved the overall story arc of the series. It was a captivating tale of friendship, courage, and self-discovery.

Pre-teens and teens who have a passion for fantasy, adventure, and (especially) dragons will undoubtedly find this series a great source of enjoyment. It's a must-read for any young reader looking for an exciting and engaging book series to get lost in. :)

This book was truly amazing when compared to the first one, Eragon.

In the middle of the book, the story became really tense, and I just couldn't help but want to read more.

The end was by far the best part because of the appearance of the new dragon and rider.

The rider really took me by surprise, and I simply couldn't believe that a new dragon had hatched within the Empire.

Where on earth did they manage to find a guy suitable for a dragon? It really made me wonder.

Anyway, when I finally finished reading, I knew without a doubt that I needed the third book.

I'm already eagerly anticipating what adventures and surprises it will bring.

I'm sure it will be just as exciting and engaging as the first two books.

I can't wait to continue following the story of Eragon and his friends.

Both are good books.

I have enjoyed reading them on multiple occasions.

However, it should be noted that the author was young when these books were written. As a result, the vocabulary used in the books gives it more of a children's book feel, despite having a teen story plot.

Aside from its simplicity, I still liked it. Some people may claim that it follows too closely on the plotlines of The Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. But hey, who didn't like those stories either?

After all, those classic tales have inspired countless other works. Maybe this book is just another example of how great stories can influence and shape new ones.

It's possible that the author was influenced by these iconic works, but still managed to put their own unique spin on it.

In the end, whether it's a carbon copy or a fresh take, what really matters is whether the book can engage and entertain the reader. And for me, it did just that.

The first book, although a very good starter, wasn't the best by Chris Paolini.

The story of the Dragon Riders and young Eragon is truly remarkable and exciting, captivating you until the bitter end.

The second book was more skillfully crafted, and we are all eagerly waiting for the third.

Personally, while this is a great story, it is interesting to note how closely some of the details resemble those in Star Wars.

I hope you enjoy it. So until then, Atra esterni ono thelduin, mor'ranr lifa unin hjarta onr, un de evarinya ono varda.

There is some incentive to find out what it means, so read on.

By the way, the movie representation was horrible. It failed to capture the essence and magic of the book, leaving many fans disappointed.

However, the written word still holds the power to transport us to a world of dragons, adventure, and wonder.

Let's continue to explore the story of Eragon and the Dragon Riders through the pages of these books.

I thought that this was an outstanding book.

I'm not particularly a die-hard fantasy fan, but when it comes to the realm of fantasy, this one truly stands out as the best it can possibly be!

It is filled to the brim with a plethora of mystery, keeping you on the edge of your seat with suspense at every turn, and offering a thrilling adventure that takes you on a wild ride.

From the very first page of the book, you instantly feel a deep connection with the main character.

Ever since I read Eragon, I've been completely hooked and have started delving into the sequence Eldest, which is also an incredibly good book.

It's like opening a door to a whole new world of imagination and excitement.

I can't wait to see what other amazing stories and adventures await me in this captivating series.

These two books, namely Eragon and its sequel Eldest, are centered around a character named Eragon.

Eragon was a young man who resided in a small town during medieval times. Growing up as an orphan, his life was filled with challenges. As winter approached, his foster family, who were farmers, didn't have much money. So, every fall, he had to go hunting for deer. Eventually, he became highly skilled with a bow.

One fall, while tracking some deer, a sudden blast of fire scared him. He ducked for cover and discovered a "stone" which, to his surprise, was a dragon's egg. From that moment on, the egg changed his life completely. He embarked on adventures all over, making new friends and foes along the way. Eragon possessed magical powers and was in training to become a Dragon Rider.

I found these two books to be extremely good. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them as they were interesting and engaging, allowing me to read them quickly. The plots were filled with adventure, which I loved. Considering that reading isn't typically my thing, the fact that I could read these books over and over again speaks volumes about their quality.

I would highly recommend these two books to everyone. They are perfect for those who enjoy fantasy, adventure, fighting, and medieval times settings. I believe that most people would like these books due to the excellent writing style and the detailed descriptions.

My 14-year-old son absolutely adored these books and has been constantly begging me to read them.

At first, I was reluctant because the movie adaptation was truly HORRIBLE. However, we all know that movies usually don't do justice to the books.

So now, I'm giving the books a try and to my surprise, they are quite charming. It's also interesting to note that they were written by a 15 or 16-year-old homeschooled boy.

Since our family is also homeschooling, I thought this would be a great example for my kids.

But being an author doesn't necessarily require an extremely high level of intelligence. I believe that having more heart is crucial. Of course, you also need to be able to string two sentences together coherently.

Overall, I'm enjoying the process of reading these books and seeing the inspiration they can bring to my children.

Christopher Paolini's work seems to draw heavily from various well-known franchises.

It's almost as if he took concepts and names from LOTR (perhaps more so than the others), Dune, Game of Thrones, and even Star Wars, and threw them all into a blender.

The story, on the surface, appears engaging enough, and I did find most of it to be passable.

However, there was one blatant act of plagiarism that really stood out to me.

Moreover, I was constantly distracted by all the recycled Tolkien lore names of places and beings.

I found myself wishing many times that Paolini could have made more of an effort to come up with some original names.

Even the names that weren't directly lifted from LOTR and the like still seemed like knock-offs.

It's a shame because the basic premise of the story had potential, but these issues really detracted from the overall experience.

It makes one wonder if Paolini was perhaps too influenced by these other works and didn't have the confidence to create his own unique world and mythology.

Overall, while there were some aspects of the story that I enjoyed, the plagiarism and recycled names left a sour taste in my mouth.
