If you have a deep affection for Wuthering Heights or any other works penned by the Bronte sisters, then this exploration into the possible inspirations behind the characters might be of great interest to you.

I had the distinct impression that this book was more centered around Charlotte rather than Emily. The prologue does touch upon the analysis of Emily and her struggle with anorexia, yet it is only briefly mentioned and rarely alluded to further.

I felt that the author frequently became so immersed in the romanticism surrounding Charlotte and Emily that she overlooked the practical aspects of life during that era. For instance, she once describes the ladies rising early at dawn in February. However, to be quite honest, at that time of year, it doesn't even get light until 9.30 am. This kind of oversight makes one question the author's attention to detail and her ability to truly capture the essence of the period.

Overall, while the book offers some interesting insights into the Bronte sisters, it also has its flaws that prevent it from being a truly comprehensive and accurate portrayal.

I'm dubious, yet obsessed.

Doubt and obsession seem to be two conflicting emotions that coexist within me. On one hand, I'm filled with doubt, constantly questioning everything around me. Is this the right path? Are my decisions correct? These doubts swirl in my mind, causing me to second-guess myself at every turn.

On the other hand, I'm also obsessed. Obsessed with achieving my goals, with learning new things, with experiencing life to the fullest. This obsession drives me forward, pushing me to work harder and strive for more. It gives me a sense of purpose and direction, even when the doubts try to pull me back.

It's a strange and often confusing state of being, but it's who I am. I'm constantly torn between the two, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Because it's this duality that makes me unique, that makes me strive for something greater.

The author takes on a rather ambitious task when attempting to decipher the complex reasons that lie behind certain events. This is particularly evident when it comes to Branwell Bronte. There are some rather significant leaps made in the analysis, which might leave some readers a bit skeptical. However, despite these leaps, the book remains an enjoyable read.

It manages to engage the reader's interest and keep them turning the pages, eager to discover more about the events and the people involved. The author's writing style is engaging and accessible, making it easy for readers to follow along.

While the interpretations and leaps might not be entirely conclusive, they do offer a fresh perspective and food for thought. Overall, it is a book that can be enjoyed by both fans of the Bronte family and those interested in historical analysis.
