I was listening to a podcast of Oprah’s this morning. It featured an old interview with Maya Angelou, and I really enjoyed it. So, when I was at the library later on, I couldn't resist going and grabbing a few of her books off of the shelf. I wanted to explore more of her wisdom and the beautiful stories she had to tell.

The art on display was truly beautiful. The colors were vivid, the details were exquisite, and the overall compositions were captivating. However, my 6-year-old daughter, Julia, was not interested in it at all.

On December 27, 2019, I took Julia to see the art exhibition. I thought she might enjoy it, as she has shown some interest in drawing and painting at home. But as soon as we walked into the gallery, she became restless and started asking to leave.

I tried to engage her by pointing out some of the paintings and explaining what they were about. But she just looked at me blankly and said, "It's boring." I was a bit disappointed, as I had been looking forward to sharing this experience with her.

Maybe she was just too young to appreciate the art, or maybe she was in a bad mood that day. Whatever the reason, I hope that she will develop a love for art as she grows older.

The illustrations in this work were truly amazing. They had a certain charm and visual appeal that could catch the eye of the viewers immediately.

However, when it comes to the content, it was not that great. It lacked depth and substance, failing to engage the readers on a deeper level.

Overall, based on these aspects, I would not recommend this piece. The imbalance between the outstanding illustrations and the underwhelming content makes it a less than satisfactory experience.

Perhaps if more effort had been put into developing the content to match the quality of the illustrations, it could have been a much better work. But as it stands now, it simply does not meet the standards that would warrant a recommendation.

The children's book is accompanied by a CD on which Maya Angelou reads the poem. As I listened to the CD while following along in the "normal book", I found it to be a unique and engaging experience.

In a sense, I was able to experience two books in one listen, which made the whole process even more enjoyable.
