A book composed of short stories that emanate zero interest, at least for me.

To me, they seem like empty and boring stories. It's a decent book and I understand that it might appeal to other people, but it's simply not for me.

I found myself struggling to get through each minicuento, lacking any real connection or engagement with the characters or the plots.

The writing style, while perhaps competent, failed to capture my imagination and hold my attention.

It's not that the book is bad per se, but it just didn't resonate with my personal tastes and preferences.

Maybe others will find something to enjoy in these stories, but for me, it was a rather forgettable read.

I'll be looking for something else that can offer more excitement, depth, and entertainment.

The story is very boring and predictable.

The writing style is dull and lacks any real excitement or creativity.

It seems to be written in a very straightforward and uninteresting way, without any attempt to engage the reader or make the story more engaging.

Perhaps it might be good for teens who are just starting to read, as it is not too difficult or complex.

However, for more experienced readers, it is likely to be a disappointment.

There is nothing really new or original about the story, and it fails to capture the imagination or hold the reader's attention for very long.

Overall, it is a rather lackluster piece of writing that could benefit from some serious improvement.

I really liked all the 12 stories that are included in the book.

Each and every one of them is written extremely well. They possess a great deal of interesting elements that keep the reader engaged from start to finish.

Moreover, what makes these stories truly stand out is the fact that they all have a wonderful twist at the end. This unexpected turn of events adds an extra layer of excitement and entertainment to the reading experience.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great source of entertainment. It is definitely a page-turner that will keep you entertained for hours on end.

I can't wait to read more books like this in the future.

Eleven short stories that conclude with a twist, driving the point home. These tales are not only enjoyable but also possess a rather English sense of humor, making them extremely delightful. Regarding the writing style, it is concise yet not lacking in substance. Each story gives the impression that it could be shared over a whisky in a club furnished with deep leather chairs.

I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions, which truly speaks volumes. Among them, "Old Love" might just have been my favorite.

This collection serves as an excellent introduction to Jeffrey Archer. I am certain that I will be delving into more of his works in the future.

The title of the book, "An Archer with a Quiver Full of Arrows," is a perfect match for the author's name.

Here, the "archer" refers to none other than Jeffrey Archer himself, and the "quiver" symbolizes the collection of short stories within the book.

The author has a remarkable talent for leading you down a certain path in a story, making you think you know exactly where it's going. But then, in the last few lines, he masterfully twists and concludes it in a completely unexpected way.

If you initially assume that these are just ordinary, simple stories without any real depth or point, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. As you reach the end of each story, you'll surely find yourself either smiling with satisfaction or in awe of the author's creativity.

If you're in need of a quick, enjoyable read to unwind before bed, this book is definitely worth picking up. It'll transport you to different worlds and keep you entertained until the very last page.

After reading Kane and Abel, I was filled with a longing to read something of a similar nature. I was informed that this particular book was written in the same style. However, upon delving into it, I quickly discovered that it was not the case at all. In fact, it bore no resemblance to Kane and Abel.

I found myself facing great difficulties in following the narrative and comprehending what was actually unfolding within the pages. The story seemed to lack the clarity and coherence that I had come to expect from a well-written book. The characters and their actions were often confusing, and I struggled to make sense of the plot.

It was a disappointing experience, especially considering the high hopes I had held based on the initial recommendation. I had been looking forward to another engaging and captivating read like Kane and Abel, but unfortunately, this book failed to deliver on that promise.

Jeffrey Archer's latest compilation is a masterful work that showcases his ingenious writing style.

The book is filled with several short stories that are uniquely written, each one offering a glimpse into the private lives of Archer's brilliant characters.

The characters come from different cultural settings and times, adding an extra layer of depth and complexity to the stories.

What makes this compilation truly engaging is the way in which each character that is introduced to the reader unpredictably collides later in the story.

Archer's ability to create such rich and diverse characters, and to编织 them together in such a seamless way, is truly remarkable.

This book is definitely worth reading for anyone who enjoys well-written short stories that will keep them on the edge of their seat from beginning to end.

Good stories,

but most of the endings felt like a bit of an anticlimax.

It seemed as if the build-up was strong, but then the conclusion didn't quite deliver the expected punch.

A bit more of a thought out twist in some of them would have gone a long way.

It could have added an element of surprise and made the stories more engaging.

Also, it bothered me that explicit detail was given on things that had no relevance to the story.

This detracted from the overall flow and made me feel like the author was going off on tangents.

However, other than that, I quite enjoyed it.

The stories had interesting premises and the writing was generally good.

I would recommend it to others who enjoy reading short stories.

Perhaps with a bit more refinement in the endings and a tighter focus on the relevant details, the book could be even better.

It was okay.

However, it's a great shame that the book relied far too heavily on twists and shock endings for each of the short stories.

While these elements are often used to engage readers and add excitement, in this case, they were never truly that good.

The twists felt forced and predictable, rather than clever and unexpected.

As a result, the stories lost some of their impact and failed to leave a lasting impression.

It's a pity because the book had the potential to be much better if the author had focused more on developing the characters and plots in a more organic way.

Overall, it was an average read that could have been improved with a different approach to the storytelling.

I have perused the Marathi translation by Leena Sohoni. The Marathi book encompasses 11 stories. However, in the original book, there are 12 stories. Notably, the story "Century", which is loosely based on the life of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi (Tiger Pataudi), is absent from this translated version published by Mehta Publishing House.

These stories span multiple genres. The majority of the stories revolve around human emotions. One story is a product of the author's imagination, while ten other stories draw inspiration from actual events.

1. "Chinese Statue": It is the tale of a Chinese statue that was brought by Sir Alexander from China to London and its journey among his descendants. It has a surprising conclusion. (4 stars)

2. "The Luncheon": This is the only story that is entirely fictional and not inspired by any real event. Archer was inspired by the work of Somerset Maugham to pen this story about a writer who had an unforgettable lunch with the ex-wife of a famous film producer. (4 stars)

3. "The Coup": This is about two rival businessmen from Brazil who are stranded in a hotel in Nigeria during a revolution and how they ultimately become friends. (4 stars)

4. "Old Love": A love story of two students who initially despise each other but later fall in love. It is the story of their bond, deep love, arguments, and a tragic end. (3 stars)

5. "Perfect Gentleman": The story of a backgammon ace player who deliberately loses the club final match to give his opponent hope and doesn't care about any recognition in the process. (3 stars)

6. "Broken Routine": The story of a man who has a rather ordinary daily routine. One day, he encounters a slight unexpected change in his life. It has a non-surprising but humorous end. (2 stars)

7. "One Night Stand": The story of two close friends from London who fancy the same girl in New York and their attempt to spend a night with her. It also has a funny and slightly surprising end. (3 stars)

8. "Henry’s Hiccup": The millionaire son of the grand pasha of Egypt who loves to live in London but lacks the knowledge of making arrangements during travel. It is a funny story of his journey from London to Paris on the occasion of his honeymoon and the fiasco that ensues. (4 stars)

9. "A Matter of Principle": The uncompromising Scottish businessman who has been striving to secure a Mexican contract. His encounter with an agent and one of the ministers of Mexico is the essence of the story. (2 stars)

10. "The Hungarian Professor": It is the story of an English professor from Budapest and his conversation with an English athlete. (2 stars)

11. "The First Miracle": The story of one day from the childhood life of Pontius Pilate. (2 stars)

This book is a collection of short stories written in the 1980s. I derived enjoyment from most of them. However, I didn't take a liking to a few. Nevertheless, it is a well-written short stories book.
