Pretty much a whole book of him saying he didn't care what other people thought.

It seems as if the author dedicated an entire volume to repeatedly emphasizing this one point. However, I can honestly say that this is a book I got nothing out of.

Blah. There was no real depth or substance to it. It was just a continuous stream of the same statement, which quickly became tiresome and uninteresting.

I expected more from this book, perhaps some valuable insights or thought-provoking ideas. But instead, I was left feeling disappointed and empty-handed.

Maybe it's just not my cup of tea, but I can't help but wonder if others will have the same experience.

Overall, it was a rather lackluster read that failed to engage or inspire me in any way.

I recommend his book Rebound instead.

This one is like candy, but not the kind for kids. I can't help but wonder if it's a ploy to land a "Postcards from the Edge" movie deal.

In my humble opinion, the first 26 chapters seem to be written with the intention of being shock-value stories about partying, drinking, women, and so on, all while having some self-awareness of alcohol abuse. Since I already know people like this, the stories didn't really shock me. However, on the plus side, I guess I could somewhat relate to him.

I got frustrated when he couldn't understand why NBA team management had concerns about hiring him to play again. He admits he's out of shape, can't show up anywhere on time, and can't stop drinking, yet he doesn't understand why others wouldn't risk their careers and reputations to rehire him if (or when) it doesn't work out. He feels it's unfair to him, but shows no internal locus of control.

Thankfully, chapter 27 shows some introspection, which helps to redeem both himself and the book a little bit towards the very end.

In summary, you can breeze through this bag of candy in a few hours without losing too much of your life.

I almost never write reviews, but this one is more like a warning label on junk food. There are other books with a similar addiction theme but that are more rewarding (funnier, more insightful, or otherwise), such as Wishful Drinking and Guts.

See Saw

A see saw is a simple yet entertaining piece of equipment. It consists of a long plank balanced on a fulcrum. Children love to play on see saws, taking turns to go up and down. It's a great way for them to have fun and interact with each other.

The motion of the see saw is based on the principle of balance. When one child sits on one end and pushes down, the other end goes up. This back and forth movement can be quite exciting and engaging. See saws can be found in playgrounds, parks, and even in some people's backyards.

Playing on a see saw not only provides entertainment but also helps children develop their physical skills. It improves their balance, coordination, and strength. Additionally, it teaches them about sharing and taking turns, which are important social skills. So, the next time you see a see saw, don't hesitate to give it a try and have some fun!

For what it's worth, I read the 2021 edition of this autobiography. It has a new epilogue that adds an interesting layer to the story.

The author takes us on a journey through the crazy, the bad, and the good moments of their life. The narrative is well told, engaging the reader from start to finish.

We get a glimpse into the author's experiences, the challenges they faced, and the lessons they learned along the way. The new epilogue provides an update on the author's life since the original publication, giving us a sense of how they have grown and changed.

Overall, this autobiography is a fascinating read that offers valuable insights into the human experience. It shows us that even through the toughest of times, there is always hope and the possibility of a better future.

Dennis Rodman is truly one of my guilty pleasures. There's something about him that just catches my attention.

However, it seems that he's better to look at than to read about. I decided to give his book a try, but unfortunately, I got bored after just two chapters.

The writing might not have been as engaging as I had hoped, or perhaps the stories didn't quite capture my interest. But I'm not one to give up easily.

I might try it again at some point, hoping that I'll be able to get past those initial chapters and discover the true essence of Dennis Rodman's life and experiences.

After all, he is such a unique and fascinating figure, and I'm sure there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. Maybe on my second attempt, I'll be able to see that and be more captivated by his story.
