I have a deep affection for James Patterson. His writing style is truly enjoyable and effortless to read.

The Women's Murder Club series is simply amazing! However, it must be noted that this particular book had a few sluggish moments.

Lindsey's trial seemed to drag on a bit, and the additional murder investigation didn't receive enough attention in the story to effectively build suspense.

Nevertheless, despite these minor drawbacks, it is still a valuable addition to the series and well worth reading.

It offers an engaging plot and interesting characters that keep the reader hooked from beginning to end.

Even with its flaws, it manages to maintain the charm and excitement that fans of the series have come to expect.

So, if you're a fan of James Patterson or the Women's Murder Club series, don't hesitate to give this book a try.

You won't be disappointed!

This is the fourth book in the Women's Murder Club series.

I still firmly believe that they killed off the wrong person in the previous book. However, this book truly delighted me.

Wow! There was an abundance of action-packed scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I chose to listen to the audiobook, and the narrator did an outstanding job. The narrator's voice brought the story to life, making it a truly enjoyable listening experience.

The book features short characters, which I think makes it a relatively fast read.

Overall, this is a great series that continues to captivate readers with its thrilling plots and engaging characters. I can't wait to see what the next installment has in store.

Maxine Paetro takes over the series from Andrew Gross. She brings in a new character, Yuki Castellano. I have a hunch that Yuki might eventually become a member of the Club.

The main part of this book focuses on Lindsay facing a wrongful death suit in court. The courtroom scenes were as good as those in an episode of Law & Order. That means they were clearly dramatized, yet they were convincing enough for me.

There was also the inevitable serial killer plot, which had a nice twist at the end. I'm not very good at guessing who the killers are, but they always seem to be hiding right in front of us and follow the book version of Ebert's Law of Economy of Characters. (\\"All characters in a movie are necessary to the story - even those who do not seem to be. Sophisticated viewers can use this Law to deduce the identity of the person being kept secret by the movie's plot: this'mystery' person is always the only character in the movie who seems otherwise extraneous. Cf. the friendly neighbor.\\")

Joe Molinari, the love interest from Book 3, shows up from time to time to have a tryst with Lindsay (he's in DC and she's in SF), but their relationship doesn't really progress. I would like to see them working together again.

This book was indeed well crafted.

However, I still have some criticism and points that I believe the author could have improved upon. Before delving into the negative aspects, let me first explain the book and what I thought was great about it.

The story is set in San Francisco and follows the main protagonist, Lindsay Boxer. She is faced with an interesting murder case, and as she pursues it, she encounters the innocent children of the murderer. She and her partner are shot and black out, but she manages to kill the kids. Sadly, this only worsens her life, setting off a chain of events that leads her to court with the murderer himself, who will stop at nothing to cover his tracks.

The book does a good job of moving the events along. Almost every chapter is filled with suspense, leaving the reader guessing what will happen next. I personally enjoyed the short chapters, as they encouraged me to read more. I despise cliffhangers more than anything, so I was compelled to engage myself further in the book.

Now, I do have a few complaints or suggestions for the book. The word choice was weak and overly simple. It was so straightforward that there was no doubt about what the author was trying to convey. In a way, this is a good thing, but my issue is that it didn't challenge my mind or immerse me deeply in the story and settings. There was detail, but not enough good word choice. I also think the book would have been better if the chapters and story weren't so obvious and had more twists. The story was not complex and very predictable, which I didn't like. I feel the author could have chosen better words and made the story a bit more complex rather than weak and predictable.

All in all, I still enjoyed the book. It suited my reading style of keeping things short while still maintaining interest. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the composition, it was perfect for my easily distracted nature when it comes to sitting down and reading. The short chapters always held my attention. I would recommend this book to anyone who isn't a fan of long-winded chapters and run-on sentences. It's an excellent choice for reading in your free time.

I really enjoyed another light read.

It was such a pleasant experience to immerse myself in a story that didn't require too much deep thinking.

The characters were engaging and the plot was simple yet entertaining.

I found myself quickly turning the pages, eager to see what would happen next.

Light reads like this are perfect for when you just want to relax and unwind.

They don't put too much stress on your mind and can provide a nice escape from the daily grind.

I'm already looking forward to my next light read and can't wait to discover more wonderful stories.

4th of July by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro is an exciting addition to the Women's Murder Club mystery series. It is the fourth book in the series and once again, it keeps readers on the edge of their seats.

I truly LOVED this book.

Every single aspect of it, from the captivating court case to the mystery surrounding who the killers were, was simply enthralling.

It had a plot twist that completely took me by surprise and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.

I also adored the new character Yuki. She is an outstanding lawyer and seamlessly fits in with the girls.

However, I am still extremely mad about what happened to Jill.

Poor little Allison, that poor girl.

I had a hunch from the very beginning that something was off with Keith.

This is a great book with a great plot and is very well written.

It managed to keep my attention from start to finish and left me eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery or thriller.

It is definitely one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Past and Present Collide

In this captivating installment of the series, the past and present collide in a thrilling way. I'm up-to-date with the series, having read the 23rd book which was the most recent release at the time of this re-read. However, I decided to restart with the audio version, and I'm absolutely loving revisiting these amazing women and the various adventures they encounter, both good and bad.

This particular book focuses almost entirely on Lt. Lindsay Boxer. Her gal pals and fellow crime-solving assistants, Claire Washburn, the medical examiner, and Cindy Thomas, the reporter, are still very much present, but the dynamics have shifted. Was it due to the loss of one of their own or a change in collaborator? The world may never know.

This was such an incredibly great, easy, and creative book. I found myself completely captivated after just the first page.
