I found this book in a little library. Since I'm a Patterson fan, I grabbed it for a quick read.

I'm really glad it was a quick read because it was just awful. The personal stuff about Cross is so tiring. He seems to learn nothing about relationships, and it doesn't move the story forward at all.

I haven't read the Cross series in a while. I tried to read them in order, but I might have some things out of sequence. I don't remember if I read the newer ones. It's just so frustrating.

Now, let's talk about the actual story. Wow! This guy is supposed to be such a mastermind, but he kills indiscriminately and lets the biggest thorn in his side walk around. Cross is so oblivious most of the time that he really shouldn't be alive.

The Weasel, who has successfully avoided Cross for so long, just steps out and Cross kills him. There's not even a reaction from Cross for someone who was such a nemesis. How could the Weasel, who was so complex, be killed so stupidly and easily? I just totally lost hope for this book.

The Wolf getting killed at the end was almost the same. And how they got all the info to catch him. There's a tracker on him all this time. Give me a break! I know in these books you have to suspend reality, but this guy was going to destroy major cities. He had so many people in his pocket, yet no one suspected anyone else as a mole even though the Wolf had all the most sensitive information. He had suitcase nukes. He was some Russian spy who must have had billions to have infiltrated so many governments, yet he had a ransom for just a couple billion. And he had no backup plan if he was killed? Maybe later books address it. The best I can say is "I can't even...".

Veramente brutto.

Its only merit is that it respects the commercial standards of writing.

For the rest, it is the second thriller in a row that I have read with the pattern of the infinite repetition of crimes, without a proper investigation unfolding.

I had attributed this characteristic of "The Library of the Dead" by Glenn Cooper to the intention of preparing the novel for a cinematic adaptation.

But this may be valid for a writer who is very much used by the cinema, not for all authors!

I therefore think that I must revise my analysis.

I believe that at this point a consideration on the police genre in general can be made.

That is, that the deputized reader of the genre has predatory and cannibalistic desires.

The mystery satisfies the reader insofar as it satisfies such impulses.

An indication is represented by the frequent gastronomic pleasure often present in mystery novels: from Montalbano's arancini, to Mrs. Maigret's cold oysters, to Katherine Dance's eggs Benedict by Deaver.

Following this reasoning, the mystery is a hunt and the reader is the hunter.

He takes pleasure in the victims of the killer and makes them his own.

In the end, even the killer, when discovered and captured, becomes the victim of the investigator on duty and the victim of the reader.

For this reason, the assassin in the thriller cannot be insignificant, he must have something that makes him a trophy of satisfaction.

Perhaps it is in homage to such a schema that more and more often the police officers parade an infinite series of victims, martyred with the ferocity proper to the "anesthesia" pursued by the pulp of a Sin City.

The fact is that in this new trend of the hunt, the search for traces, the analysis of the terrain, the smell of the wind... disappear.

Only the sound of the trap snapping and the splatter of spilled blood remain.

These mystery writers all want to be poachers rather than hunters.

Read Big Bad Wolf first!!!!

The story of the Big Bad Wolf is a classic and well-known tale. It has been passed down through generations and has captured the imaginations of many.

The Big Bad Wolf is often portrayed as a cunning and sly character. He is always looking for ways to outwit the other animals, especially the little pigs.

In the story, the Big Bad Wolf tries to blow down the houses of the three little pigs. He huffs and heaves, but the first two houses are not strong enough to withstand his power.

However, the third little pig is much smarter. He builds his house out of bricks, which are much stronger and more durable. When the Big Bad Wolf tries to blow it down, he fails.

The Big Bad Wolf then tries to find other ways to get into the house and eat the little pig. But the little pig is always one step ahead of him.

In the end, the Big Bad Wolf is outwitted by the little pig and he runs away with his tail between his legs.

This story teaches us the importance of being smart and prepared. It also shows us that we should not be too trusting of others, especially those who may have bad intentions.

Overall, the story of the Big Bad Wolf is a fun and engaging read that is suitable for children of all ages. It is a great way to introduce them to the world of literature and to teach them valuable life lessons.

Good read.

Though it is a bit over the top, this story is truly captivating. A mysterious figure, known only as The Wolf, possesses an astonishing capacity to single-handedly wreak havoc and destroy parts of the world. In a time when security and technology are at an all-time high, it is truly remarkable that nobody has the slightest clue about his (or perhaps her) identity. The Wolf seems to be invincible, lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any moment.

Enter Will Cross, a determined protagonist with a mission to find The Wolf and save the world from impending doom. The story takes readers on a wild ride, filled with crazy twists and turns at the end, in the typical Patterson fashion that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The book is easy to read, with short chapters that make it a quick and enjoyable read. Despite its flaws, it manages to engage the reader and keep them entertained from start to finish. Overall, it's a worthwhile read for fans of thrillers and mystery novels.

Threads from everywhere that seemed to come from nowhere.

This is not my favourite Cross book. The story, while having its moments, lacks the usual depth and excitement that I have come to expect from this author.

The plot seems a bit disjointed, with the threads of the story not quite weaving together as seamlessly as they should. It's as if the author had too many ideas and tried to cram them all into one book, resulting in a somewhat chaotic and confusing read.

The characters, too, are not as well-developed as in some of Cross's other works. They lack the complexity and individuality that would make them truly engaging and memorable.

Overall, while there are some redeeming qualities to this book, it simply doesn't measure up to the standards set by Cross's previous novels. I was left feeling a bit disappointed and hoping for more.

I gave this book 4 stars.

The reason is that it wasn't my favorite among the ones I've read up to this point.

In the story, a crazy individual known as the Wolf is holding 4 countries hostage, demanding billions of dollars and the release of prisoners.

The overall plot was just okay. There was a lot of movement and action, which sometimes made it a bit confusing.

Moreover, there were way too many characters, making it difficult to keep track of who was who and their respective roles.

Despite these drawbacks, the book still had some interesting elements that kept me engaged to a certain extent.

However, it didn't quite reach the level of my absolute favorite books.

Maybe with a bit more focus on character development and a less convoluted plot, it could have been a better read.

Overall, it was an average book that had its moments but also had some areas that needed improvement.

Zero stars! What a waste of £6.99!

I was so disappointed with this product. I had high hopes for it, but it completely failed to meet my expectations.

The quality was extremely poor. It looked cheap and felt flimsy.

I tried using it, but it didn't work properly. It kept malfunctioning and causing problems.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. Save your money and look for something else.

There are so many better options available in the market. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I hope the manufacturer takes note of these issues and improves their product.

Until then, I will be steering clear of anything with their name on it.

As a mysterious group of soldiers evacuated the population of Sunrise Valley, Detective Alex Cross was enjoying his vacation. However, his relaxation was short-lived when he was abruptly called into work in Nevada. In James Patterson’s London Bridges, the entire area was mysteriously blown up.

The local police discovered a video camera that unveiled the suspect behind the bombings. The FBI had been in pursuit of this individual for nearly three years.

Although Cross had extensive experience in handling such situations, the suspect seemed to be in complete control. He dictated to the FBI what actions to take, who should be assigned to the case, and even who should be removed. With the local police and the FBI having minimal control, many of the situations quickly spiraled out of hand. These included threats targeting major cities like New York and Washington D.C.

I found this to be an excellent novel. The thrilling chase that the suspect led Detective Cross on was so captivating that it was extremely difficult for me to put the book down. The movement between different locations added an interesting element, making me wonder if there might be more than one suspect involved.

These last two installments of the series truly played a significant role in enabling me to commence enjoying the Alex Cross series.

Initially, I had faced a relatively harder time immersing myself in it. The reason being that, on occasion, there is a certain element of cheesiness present.

Nonetheless, when considering the overall drama, the crime aspect, and the thrilling nature of the stories, it is really intense.

This intensity is what ultimately led to my quite enjoying the series.

In conclusion, it has been a great read that has managed to capture my interest and keep me engaged despite the initial challenges.

The combination of the exciting plotlines and the well-developed characters has made it a worthwhile experience.

I look forward to exploring more of the Alex Cross series in the future.
