Reading this book feels exactly like going through a second-hand undergraduate textbook, with the only difference being that it has italics instead of highlighted text.

I don't recall ever coming across such an excessive use of random italics to signify the words the author believes we should pay attention to. It seems as if the readers aren't intelligent enough to determine on their own what is crucial and what is merely ordinary narration. And indeed, it is so irritating that even I, someone who compulsively finishes books, am contemplating simply returning this one to the library.

Moreover, there is a rather fundamental research error: the author uses the terms "semiautomatic" and "revolver" interchangeably.

I ceased reading approximately 10 pages before the end, once the "mystery" had been resolved. I have now read several James Patterson books, and I won't bother to read any more.

This book has truly been a disappointment, with its overuse of italics and the research blunder. It has failed to engage me and has left me with a negative impression. I would not recommend it to others.

Terzo James Patterson, secondo Patterson's Thriller e primo Alex Cross che volevo leggere da una vita.

It's not the number one, but that one wasn't available at the Mondadori where I go.

I took a peek at the film on Sky about Alex Cross, without really seeing it. So I decided anyway to start with any one of the series but not too far along.

I chose the third one. I'll imagine Alex Cross as the actor to begin.

It's a really tight thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end.

Nothing is what it seems or what you think.

That's why James Patterson is officially one of my favorite writers.

This book has a captivating plot that twists and turns, making it impossible to put down.

The characters are well-developed and the action is non-stop.

From the very beginning, I was drawn into the story and couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

James Patterson has a talent for creating thrilling stories that keep readers engaged from start to finish.

I'm looking forward to reading more of his works and continuing to explore the world of Alex Cross.

Overall, this was a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good thriller.

One of the elements that significantly enriches the character of Alex Cross is his family.

His family not only makes him seem more genuine but also reveals a facet of his humanity that extends beyond the realm of his work.

The story takes on an added layer of intensity due to the threat that his work sometimes poses to his family.

When he is on the trail of a serial killer, it becomes increasingly challenging to precisely determine who is the hunted and who is the hunter.

In this story, the two concurrent cases that Alex is handling offer an abundance of tension and excitement.

A child killer strikes alarmingly close to home when a little girl is discovered dead near his son's school.

Simultaneously, a pair of psychos known as Jack and Jill embark on a spectacular series of celebrity killings.

The child killer case is both a personal and a professional matter for Alex, yet he is compelled by his chief to direct most of his energy towards the Jack and Jill case.

As is characteristic of this series, the characters of the killers are almost as well-developed as those of the "good guys," which can be rather disconcerting at times.

Nevertheless, this book remains a real page-turner, captivating readers from start to finish.

Number 3 in the Alex Cross series presents a thrilling and complex scenario. This time, Alex has not just one but two killers to pursue. Two young children have been brutally murdered, and Alex, along with his friend and fellow cop Samson, feels an urgent need to solve this mystery as soon as possible. The situation is even more pressing because Alex's kids attend the same school as the victims. To make matters worse, there are two psychopathic killers, Jack and Jill, on the loose, targeting high-profile citizens. Needless to say, the FBI and the NYPD require Alex's expertise on the case. Alex finds himself juggling the task of solving both cases simultaneously, which is no easy feat. The end game, in my opinion, was a bit excessive. However, considering it's a work of fiction, that's understandable. Another aspect that slightly irked me was the dialogue whenever Alex's kids or Nana Mama were mentioned, which could be a bit uncomfortable. But overall, this was a minor complaint in what turned out to be a quick and enjoyable read. It follows the typical James Patterson format, with short chapters, a fast pace, and increasing tension as the end approaches.
