The second book in the Maximum Ride series is good, yet it is not without flaws.

Throughout the book, it seems to engage in a plethora of unnecessary activities to disclose the key points. This causes the pace to slow down significantly when compared to the brisk nature of the first book.

If we consider the end of the first book and the beginning of the third book, it becomes evident that the valuable information that is lost could have been easily expounded upon in less than 200 pages.

Nevertheless, the book does manage to do a great many things correctly. It retains the majority of the positive aspects that made the first book so appealing. Each of the Flock's personality traits, and even those of others like Ari, are delved into more deeply, revealing new facets of their characters.

As is always the case, the action-packed segments are among the best in the entire book, given how thrilling and exhilarating they can be for the reader.

In my estimation, the second book is marginally inferior to the first book, but not by a substantial amount. It was still an enjoyable read, and I am eagerly anticipating the sequel.

Book two is far more than what I had anticipated. It is also significantly more captivating than book one.

Now that I have gained an understanding of this family and who each of them is, I appreciate the fact that we don't know everything about them. Instead, we are learning about them as they discover things about themselves. Of course, the story maintains the same fast pace as book one, but there are moments when it slows down. This allows us to witness the flock being placed in various unexpected situations.

It is refreshing to see that things aren't perfect within the flock, especially considering their ages. We already knew that, like a normal family, there could be strained moments at times. However, there is definitely a lot of questioning going on, and you find yourself渴望 for answers (if that makes any sense). I really liked seeing the different sides of all the flock members. It definitely helped to bring out their personalities even more.

Another aspect that I enjoyed was getting to see them act in a particular situation that lasted for more than just a day or two. I'm guessing it was at least a month. It was a scene that truly tested each of them and demonstrated how they could handle certain aspects of life.

Still, I didn't receive a lot of answers. I got a few, but now I have even more questions! That's the only thing that irritates me. It's like, come on, give me a little more. Instead, I just kept getting more and more bait, and I continued to pursue it. I will definitely be starting "Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports" tonight.

4.5 stars.

I have to admit that I didn't enjoy this particular book as much as the first one in the series. However, that doesn't mean I didn't have a great time reading it!

From the very beginning, I was completely gripped by the story. The plot was engaging and full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself unable to stop turning the pages, eager to find out what would happen next.

The characters were well-developed and interesting, each with their own unique personalities and motives. I especially liked the way the author explored the relationships between the characters, which added an extra layer of depth to the story.

Overall, while this book may not have been my absolute favorite in the series, it was still a very enjoyable read. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery or thriller.

I really loved this book. It belongs to the Science Fiction genre, which I usually have a great affection for. After following the events in the first book, Max and the flock are making their way to Washington D.C. Their plan is to get a better understanding of the papers they took and formulate a strategy. However, on their way, they are attacked by Ari, who was thought to be dead, and a group of Erasers, human-lupine hybrids. During the intense fight, Ari manages to land a hit on Fang's side. At first, the flock and Max don't think much of it. But soon, Fang passes out in mid-air. They later discover that his side was severely shredded.

Even though the flock is reluctant to have doctors around them, they realize that Fang needs immediate and serious medical attention when he goes into shock. At the hospital, they come across FBI agents, including Anne Walker. Anne takes the flock to live with her, and they start spending time on her land. Anne decides that since their education is rather patchy, they should be enrolled in school. But trouble follows when the "headhunter" Mr. Pruitt catches Iggy and Gazzy setting off a stink bomb at school. This incident leads to them getting into trouble, and they decide that they have to blend in more.

After a few months of school, Max is attacked by the headmaster and a couple of other teachers with strange tastes, which forces them to leave the school. However, before this, Iggy finds his parents and decides to stay with them for a while. But he eventually heads back with the flock when they return to Anne's country house. From there, they head to Florida because the youngest member of the flock wants to go to Disneyland. They do manage to go to Disneyland, but they discover that Ari is following them. They also learn from Angel that the world may end due to a company called Itex. The rest of the story is for the reader to uncover.

I really loved this book. I'm usually quite picky when it comes to Science Fiction, but this series is filled with adventure, tension, and is like a thrilling roller coaster ride that keeps getting faster. From the first book, we are introduced to a strong female character who is only 14 but has already experienced so much heartbreak and betrayal. James Patterson's writing in this second book is truly fantastic. I especially appreciate how he has made the main character a girl who is a human-again hybrid. I applaud him for showing the effects of what some of these hybrids can do.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has read it before and wants to read it again, those who enjoy science fiction, or someone in need of an adventure-packed book. This book is definitely a page-turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Thank goodness I finally got through this one. I feel like School's Out--Forever took me much longer to re-read than The Angel Experiment.

We pick up right where the previous book left off. The flock has just escaped the Institute, and Max has "killed" Ari, now struggling with conflicted feelings. Her Voice takes a morally gray approach and treats Max with cynicism. But soon we find out Ari isn't actually dead, and he and the other Erasers are getting clumsy wings grafted on to better take on the flock.

On the other side, the flock tries to hide in D.C. but is attacked by the flying Erasers, leaving Fang wounded. They risk a hospital visit to save him and then stay with Anne, who claims to be FBI. She enrolls them in school and talks about adoption. Max struggles with jealousy, and Fang keeps her focused on uncovering their past. We also learn Total the dog can talk.

The story spirals into odd highs and lows. From trouble at a private prep school to finding out Anne works for the School+Institute, the flock ditches the place and heads to Florida. They spend time in a swamp and then visit Disney World. I often wondered if Patterson knew where he was going with this book.

The better moments focused on Ari's character depth. His thoughts, tormented psyche, and personal hurt had more emotional impact. We also see more of Angel's powers growing and her becoming morally gray. The retcon about the Voice working with her character development later in the series.

My final word is that this book goes straight from climax to conclusion with no falling action. It's aggravating to endure while re-reading. First rating: 5 stars
Second rating: 3 stars

This is the second installment of the Maximum Ride series,

picking up right after The Angel Experiment. It is highly recommended that you read them in order

to avoid any confusion in the plotline.

Maximum Ride: Schools out Forever starts precisely where The Angel Experiment left off.

The six genetically engineered children are still being chased by their main enemies, the Erasers,

a wolf/human hybrid. Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge, and Angle continue to evade the predators

in each city they visit. Max is constantly haunted by the death of their main Eraser pursuer named Ari,

who might or might not be her biological brother. Additionally, she keeps hearing the Voice in her head,

and is completely confused as to who or what it is.

Along the journey, they encounter a seemingly kind woman, who just so happens to be a high-ranking FBI agent.

She enrolls them in a normal school where Max feels like an outcast. Max and her fellow winged children

end up releasing a bunch of other genetically altered animals onto the city. Although it doesn't achieve much,

they do adopt a dog that Angel has become attached to. He appears to be your typical, ordinary puppy,

until he opens his mouth and starts talking! You will surely enjoy the story and become completely enthralled

in the portrayal of each individual child... including the dog!

Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful reading experience!

Hahaha...

Deleting my old review of this because it was painfully embarrassing.

Let's just say, I used to have an intense love for this book/series.

I would devour each page, getting completely lost in the fictional world it created.

The characters seemed so real to me, and the storylines were captivating.

However, as time has passed, my feelings have changed.

Now... not so much.

I'm not sure exactly when or why this shift occurred.

Maybe my tastes have evolved, or perhaps the book/series just didn't hold up as well upon further reflection.

So yeah.

Perhaps I'll eventually find the motivation to write a more detailed review for this one, but probably not.

There are so many other books and series out there waiting to be discovered and explored.

For now, I'll just leave it at this and move on to the next literary adventure.

ENG: It is truly incredibly difficult to come across someone who doesn't relish the books of this series. The reason is simple - the story unfolds naturally, the characters are well-developed, and the plot is simply fantastic. This is one of James Patterson's remarkable abilities. The reader is hooked from the very first pages of every single one of his works, and this one is no exception.

One aspect that I felt had improved compared to the first book was the comedy. While the first one had a hint of funny personalities, this one had jokes that were so good that they actually made me laugh out loud. It added an extra layer of enjoyment to the reading experience.

Regarding the characters, once again, Max and Fang are my favorites. You can sense that there is something special between them, and I'm really hoping that this "something" develops further in the upcoming chapters. On the other hand, Angel is still a sweetheart, but she can be slightly scary and at times, a bit annoying.

Throughout the book, the plot thickens and intensifies. You simply can't put it down. It's addictive. As is typical with Patterson, he amazes the reader with a terrific ending. I can't wait to read the following books. As you would expect, I highly recommend all of the works of this author, not just this series.

Good Reading.

I can't recall what rating I gave the first book. However, it seems that I liked this book a bit more than the first one. It's not a significant difference, just a little more. Once again, I'm annoyed by the writing style, the extremely short chapters, and the way it feels as if the author is talking down to the young adult reader. But then again, that could just be my perception, and to be honest, I haven't read any adult books by him yet.

Anyway, things are about to take a turn for Max and her flock as Fang gets injured during their journey. The FBI is involved, there's the school, and .

Hmm, will I pick up book 3? Well, this was a library book, so maybe *shrug* if, you know, I need it for a challenge?

Overall, while I had some issues with this book, it still had enough elements to keep me somewhat interested. I'm curious to see how the story will develop further, especially with the new challenges and surprises that have been introduced. However, I'm also a bit hesitant due to my concerns about the writing style. Only time will tell if I'll decide to continue with the series.

Rereading cringey books from your childhood with friends is an experience that I would highly recommend with a 10/10 rating.

When you gather with your friends and pick up those old books that once seemed so special but now might make you cringe, it brings back a flood of memories. You'll find yourselves laughing at the outdated language, the cheesy plots, and the over-the-top characters.

It's a chance to bond with your friends over shared nostalgia and to have some lighthearted fun. You might even discover new details or perspectives that you missed when you were younger.

So, don't be afraid to dust off those old childhood favorites and gather your friends for a rereading session. It's sure to be a memorable and enjoyable experience.

I have a deep affection for the characters in this story. Among them, my absolute favorite is the Gasman. His antics are truly hilarious and never fail to make me burst into laughter.

When it comes to the characters, it's无可挑剔. However, in terms of the plot, it's just average. The plot seems like a jumbled mess, and I often find myself confused. There are certain parts that I think could have been edited out as they seem rather pointless and cause the story to drag.

Moreover, there are far too many deux-ex-machina moments, which really irritate me. It's not enough that one character has a superpower. Take Angel, for example. How many superpowers can this girl possibly have? It's just too much!

Nevertheless, there is one part of the book that I really love. That's when they attend a normal school. Finally, we get to see the flock interact with normal kids. Max has a date with Sam, and Fang kisses a girl, which makes Max extremely jealous because, well, she likes Fang. *roll eyes* It's all very dramatic and entertaining.

Overall, it was still a good read. I absolutely love Gazzy! I'm really hoping that in the next installment, there will be more Faxness. They're the main reason I read the book, so I'm really looking forward to seeing more romance between this couple.
